I received my H&S order today! Indian Nimbu, Queen Catherine, Golden Monkey and Nahorhabi Assam! Looking forward to the morning cup.

Awesome order TeaTiff :-)

My recent H&S also included Indian Nimbu and Queen Catherine, both excellent.

Have a nice morning cup tomorrow!

Enjoy the teas. Have you decided on a morning cup?

No decision yet:) They all smell so good. I will probably go with the assam, or maybe just one of each:)

I vote for one of each :-)

I have Nahorhabi every morning. Every morning I have a dilemma what to drink and I settle on Assam:)

I received my (another) Whispering Pines Tea Company order! It’s gorgeous and it made me very happy :D

My free sample was Yunnan Dian Hong Classic 58.

Yay! WP orders make me soooo happy! I too have one (yes, another ) on the way.

Enjoy :-)

Haha, there’s something about them that just makes you want to order MORE from them. But no more for me for a while… until BF probably ;D

My Simple Loose Leaf box came in! This time I ordered Sleeping Dragon Green and Tahiti Pu’erh, as well as a sample of Plum Blossom White. There was a LOT of Pu’erh in the box; I kinda wish I had only gotten 1 pu’erh bag and 2 green bags. But free tea is free tea!

This is more a what I bought in the store comment but as I never seem to be able to find that thread I am going to post it here!

A new tea shop opened recently in Port Credit. I stopped there on my way from the polling station today. First off it’s bigger than I thought it might be they have a number of tables for sit down service and have scones and other pastries. The sell mostly flavoured teas, as well as fruit, herbal, and some straight teas. What made me excited is even though they have a very limited straight tea collection, they have Lopchu TGFOP, and they even have a baimu dan Lopchu. I have never seen a white tea from this estate so that’s what I got. Excited to try it as Lopchu’s black tea is one of my favourite teas, and I am curious about what a Yunnan Varietal grown in Darjeeling will yield in a white tea.

ooh! darjeeling whites are a bit light bodied for me, at least the one I’ve tried. but a Yunnan varietal sounds more promising. tell me how it is!

I will!

I so envy you to have a tea shop to physically go to, lol…there are none in my neck of the woods!

Enjoy, great finds :-)

We have some nice coffee shops some of which served looseleaf and a bakery which does high tea. There is/was another tea store at the end of the town centre, but I don’t know if they made a go of it. Its basically next to starbucks . I don’t know if that will help or hinder it as they may get overflow traffic. It is nice to have a place nearby. It is in a perfect place to grab a cup and then go for a stroll by the lake or the river.

Apt, so far its really good. It is very sweet with honey sugar cane notes, lots of chocolate notes, roasted light smoke notes from processing, malt and that sort of vitamin c note I always get in this type of teas. To be honest it tastes like a more honeyed version of some very tippy Chinese blacks I’ve had, with notes I’ve found in some keemun, jinjunmei, and Yunnan’s it was flavourful from the first steep and I am currently on steep 7. Yum.

sounde delicious, thanks for following up.

I stopped in there yesterday but had little time and there were too many teas on the menu! I did a quick scan and saw most were flavoured. I like flavoured but have been drinking a lot of straight teas lately so was looking for something like that. I figured it’s better to stop back in when I have some time to go over their teas.

Here’s an extra note for those in the area. Cousins grocery store on Hurontario is carrying some different teas. Just a few of the Harney & Sons and some other brands (can’t remember the names now) Mostly black teas which didn’t interest me but someone else may want to know.

So agree that it is mostly flavoured. Some of the flavoured smelled pretty nice. Their straight teas that I remember, were a Dragonwell, a green Darjeeling, Lopchu black and the bai mudan, and an Assam. They do have a wall with sample jars that you find by number to smell. They intend to display their menu on their website eventually. http://www.sassyteas.com but it is not up yet. They are not planning to open an e-store.

Thanks Ubucat, I haven’t dropped into Cousins lately, it sounds like they may be experimenting with more teas. I mostly get to Battaglias on Lorne Park. Is any of the Harney’s Looseleaf? Battaglias had some but it was all sachets and nothing I was interested in. Battaglias often has some form of looseleaf as well. Right now they have Tea squared, some cheap Ceylon, and twinnings earl grey. They have a few Teapigs sachets. I wonder if they joint order anything. I know that they are both run by Battaglias. Battaglias is pretty awesome though. They even have Italians making trips from little Italy North to shop there.

It’s such a tiny store that they can only stock a small amount of tea. Yes, they were all sachet at least for the Harney & Sons. Can’t remember about the other but (now that you mention it) I think Tea squared might have been one of the other ones they were carrying.

Thanks for the info on Sassy Teas. An on-line menu would be great.

Rescued my RiverTea order from Mail Jail today! :)

VariaTEA said

Yay for RiverTea!!

Uh oh. Mail Jail? Because of customs or something?

Just wasn’t home the first time they tried to drop it off; and because it was a box they wouldn’t leave it for me.

Ah. I was afraid it was customs since I’m going to be getting tea from RiverTea sometime next week.
I noticed that their office is in Germany, so I was thinking it’s being sent from there? Or am I off? XD
