I got an ounce of Shiva’s Breakfast from Butiki teas for helping name the blend, as well as a few samples because Stacy is awesome :)

I want to get Shiva on my next order;)

Aww, she is awesome, and so are you for helping naming it :-)

Today was Christmas in July chez sherapop:

My first Golden Tips Indian tea subscription package arrived with fifteen new portions of tea, all in cute little resealable envelopes and complete with full info: SFTGOP1, Estate, Date of Harvest, etc.—this is great!!!!!

Secondly, I received seven beautiful 1 ounce envelopes (also resealable) of different pu-erhs from Mandala Teas.

What a wonderful tea day this has been. Many new sipping adventures lie ahead! ;-)

Nice!! :D Can’t wait to see your notes on the Golden Tips Indian tea.

Yay! Everything sounds so great, enjoy :-)

What Golden Tips did you order in addition to the sub?

Excited for you for all of the golden tip teas. It looked like a great subscription, especially since shipping is often really steep from tea shops there.

Thank you, everyone! I can hardly contain my excitement!!!!!!! Seriously, anyone who’s not into tea would think that I’m a lunatic. Happily, I have all of you! ;-)

Marzipan: I ordered a couple of extra Assams, and the Masala Chai to bring my order above the $100 threshold so that both the Steepster25 and free shipping would apply. I almost ordered the great Assam sample set that you mentioned in another thread, but then I thought that it would be nice to have some authentic Masala chai, to see how it compares with all of the imitators…

As you saw, this month’s selection included a 10 gram portion of that same chai, but that’s okay—no complaints! I am thrilled with this subscription plan. How wonderful that once a month, another eleven times, I’ll feel this happy to receive such a gift from New Delhi!

They ship via DHL, so it was super fast and fun to watch my package moving from New Delhi to London to New York to Cincinnati to Boston… I am so glad that I decided to take the plunge into the vast and rich world of Indian tea!

I am right there with you. I literally had to calm myself down earlier.

I got my second Rivertea order after a week of anticipation. Unfortunately I’m not nearly as impressed with this package as I was with first order. The sides were squished like someone had been using it as an accordion. :) However the packaging was beautiful as usual so I have nothing to complain about.

Glad everything was safe. Enjoy!

That’s how mine arrived too. I’m not sure if it was the box or the postal services are just being really rough with their packages lately. Summertime postal rage? Lol.

Yyz: thank you! Everything from RiverTea has been fantastic so far so I’m positive I’ll love this order too. I was actually pretty excited about my package after the initial bafflement. It’s a lot smaller than the first but the same amount in ounces. I assume because green tea is smaller in volume than white. I also received a milk oolong that actually smells appealing to me so I’m staying positive!

Shadowfall: I think that might just be it. Lol. My postman is usually careful with my parcels. The post office/ups on the other hand……I’ve actually seen my packages get tossed, chucked and carelessly handled before they hand it to me. My heart stops every time it happens. That’s why I try to intercept my mail man as often as possible. Thank goodness my teas/teaware always comes heavily bubble wrapped!

Lol! I hold very little confidence in the care of most postal services. XD A few Christmas’ ago, I had UPS toss (and I mean physically toss) the box with my Mom’s Crosby Record/CD/Tape/Radio Player onto the porch. Scared the hell out of me with the crash it made. Thankfully the porch at that time was strong enough to hold the impact. XD

Green Terrace Tea samples and a HUGE bag of samples from Tea at Sea for my August TTB. Yay, so excited! They sent samples of their Mountain Organic Oolong, Green Tea, and Black Tea :)

It’s a GOOD day when tea arrives in the mail, and boy did I get alot of tea today!

I got my Mandala order from the ripe loose pu’erh sale (in which I ordered entirely too much tea, and yet want more), with a lovely handwritten thank you note from Garret (which made me feel all warm and fuzzy =).) I also got a big order from 52teas with 2 grab bags and some other teas and some iced teas I had my eye on.

I want to try everything RIGHT NOW, but I’m trying to refrain while I still have a TTB on premises. =)

Yunnan Sourcing 2012 Wild Purple cake and new puerh pick for those really tight Menghai tuos I bought recently.

Purple cake? Explain, please.

I need a puerh pick.

boychik said

I need a pick too. Almost bought it yesterday fr YS but it jumped my ship, so I was playing with the cart and decided I want tea more than pick. Some other time. I wanted the sandalwood one which completely closed when not used.

I need one as well. Oh that one sounds awesome boychik!

My first 52 Teas order including two grab bags. Lots of good choices but will be offing the rooibos ones up for swap when I’m back from vacation.

Echoing Cwyn, I received a 2013 Wu Liang Ye Sheng pu-erh (purple cake), and a 2012 autumn Yi Wu purple sheng pu-erh from Yunnan Sourcing (US). Purple cakes are made from a naturally occurring variant of the camellia sinensis tea tree that has purple leaves. I’ve found the pu-erh tea from this variant reflects the region of origin, but with a slightly different flavor and aroma than other pu-erh from that region. It is said to have slight chemical differences from other camellia sinensis plants, and we use it both because we like the taste and aroma, and because it is said to be good (or even better) in reducing high blood pressure.

Today was an insane day for tea!

I ran out there to grab my Mandala order which I’d gotten notification was delivered, only to find my Simple Loose Leaf Box AND my A&D order! There was also a Deadpool tee from Qwerty in that stack of packages, which was useful to distract my bf as I brought all these boxes into the house.

He looks at me. I look at him. “I… I didn’t expect all of this. I didn’t expect you’d SEE all of this.” Then I pass him the tee-shirt package and run off giggling. :P This is my life.

I didn’t even realize I still had a SLL box coming! I had to cancel my subscription, but I was very impressed with the packaging and the quality of teas. If you’re in the US, it’s a pretty great deal!
