Official *What did you get in the mail today?* Thread!!!
Got my A&D Damn Fine teas Spring Keemun in the mail and ALSO found some Fauchon pear tea at TJMaxx!!!! Woo! My first tin of Fauchon :D
Hmmmm good score on the Fauchon Pear – wondering if that means I should start watching for them again….
TJMaxx and Marshall’s both have reportedly had Fauchon on occasion. No way to tell when or what type. This was the only time I’ve found it and it was the only tin!
Wow you got lucky if there was only one tin. It was meant to be. :))
There was a brief period last fall that Winners/Home Sense in Canada had lots of Fauchon, but it didn’t last long. I picked up some at that time, but haven’t seen any since. I was in Marshall’s on the weekend, and they didn’t have any. Will just have to keep watching.
How much are the employees at Marshall’s and TJ Maxx going to hate me now that I will probably phone and in-person stalk them? lol
Dexter, I think you should be able to set your own rules for hiatus. As long as there aren’t too many exceptions, and as long as you don’t find yourself buying too many things that you already have, just because they are on sale.
Fauchon because it’s so hard to get here, especially for Canadians who don’t qualify for the US online sales, would be an exception for me;)
I like yyz rules better (trust me if I saw Fauchon at a local store I would buy some) However, that is of course why I’m sitting in the middle of a cupboard explosion (with a ton more on the way). I buy tea because:
A> it’s shiny and new and I need to try all the tea.
B> I’m stressing and it makes me happy.
C> it’s on sale and it’s a favorite or shiny and new.
D> I’m addicted to tea and lots of times don’t really feel like there is such a thing as too much.
E> all of the above.

Ppl, I avoided TJmaxx and Marshall’s for almost a year. Those stores are in my neighborhood. Marshall’s is next block from my kiddies school. Every time I go there I tend to spend a lot ( not on tea of course). Clothes for kids and shoes. Shoes are so cheap, good brands. So just before I left for vacation I had to get some summer shoes .my damage was 4 pairs and Fauchon pear and peach. Sorry I didn’t post earlier, slipped my mind. I’m bad influence here anyway
Me too, though mines partly due to my aliexpress problem;). I’ve actually been pretty good about other orders.
Hmmmm two people have found Fauchon at Tjmaxx or Marshall’s lately. I really need to start watching more closely….
OMG just got my packages from Whispering Pines and Verdant! This is better than Christmas.
Yay I got my package from Whispering Pines! Definitely the wrong day for the mailman to be like five hours later than usual. I wonder what happened… Anyway, I got an ounce each of: Fujian Black, S’mores, Ailaoshan Black, Pine Peak Keemun, Golden Orchid, Imperial Gold Bud, Bi Luo Chun Yunnan, Chocolate Chai, and Elder Grove. And he sent a free sample of Yunnan Dian Hong Classic 58. Hooray!
I also got my free samples from Good Life Tea. I chose the “surprise me pack” which is Cream of Earl Grey, Belgian Chocolate Rooibos, and Angel Falls Mist (a fruit tisane). Thanks for the samples!
And I got the Marie Antoinette that I purchased from VariaTEA in her stash sale. Thanks again! :)
These are AWESOME choices. Their black teas, in my opinion, are the best under the Sun.
Kat_Maria, I definitely agree based on what I’ve tried. The Bi Luo Chun was especially good. I hope the Imperial Gold Bud is amazing too! :D

I actually do share at work. On the days I can manage it, if I’m in the office and it’s not too insane, I try to have tea in the afternoon with the best Special Assistant on this, or any other planet, and I bring the good stuff. She hates me for giving her an expensive tea habit.

That’s fantastic that you’ve found a tea buddy at work to share with. I take sample care packages to everyone who expresses interest, but so far I haven’t been able to convert anyone into a junkie like us. It’s just nice to know that there are others out there who are as crazy as I am. :))

I wanted chocolate chai as well but too hot. Someone mention recently got some chocolate tea and it all melted:(. Lets hope yours will not
boychik, there’s no actual chocolate in it. The base tea is their Fujian Black, which has a lot of cocoa notes. Hence chocolate chai. :)
(I could be wrong, but I don’t think there is actual chocolate in this one – the chocolate comes from the Fujian Black base that’s used – at least that’s my understanding….)

How is the Golden Fleece? (That name always makes me think of Greek sheep).
