Official *What did you get in the mail today?* Thread!!!
Got my latest Della Terra Teas order! They ship so fast! Got it in two days! Was a little disappointed because there wasn’t a sample like last time. Oh well. Not like I need more tea at the moment. I got love in a cup, dubbele chocolade, apple cinnamon yogurt, and vanilla creme!
Got a sample bundle from Yssah and my 52 teas order that was snowed in lol
i got my 2nd order from Teavivre (no. 1 is still with customs I fear).
TGY 100 gr and bi lo chun 100 gr + glass tea pot.
also received a feng qing black tea from the Canton Tea Club. Smells like pure chocolate. Off to try
Today I got three swap packages (Thanks Lariel, Alphakitty, and teapot1!). Super stoked.
I also got my first Verdant order today. Laoshan Black and Laoshan Genmaicha! Yay!
Well I know they’re waiting for me on the porch at home…

Della Terra! Chocolate Almond Coconut for both Courtney and I, and I also got Lemon Chiffon, Lime Chiffon, and Lemon Lime Cream Tart. Yay, rooibos teas that are actually delicious!
I received my Caramel matcha from Red Leaf today. :) It was my first matcha, and I’m not writing a tasting note for it yet, because I think my first cup was user error. xD; It’s not supposed to be overly bitter, but it was KICK MY FACE IN bitter. xD So I’ll try again and when I make it properly, I’ll write a taste note.
How much matcha did you use? Hot, warm, or cold water? How long did you whisk?
I did half a teaspoon, and I did 185 degree water. The bowl I poured it in wasn’t pre-heated though, so that probably cooled it down to about 180ish. I suspect I just didn’t whisk long enough, but if you have any suggestions I’m all ears. :)
I’d try a bit cooler water with flavored matcha. I’ve had better luck when the water was warm, and not hot. While I don’t prefer cold/room temp water for matcha, some people seem to have some luck with it, so you may also want to test that out.
I also whisk my matcha for a long time, and very vigorously.
Just experiment a little and see if you can’t find your preference. =)
Cooler water, thankyou. :) That’s a good idea. And yes, I’ll definitely try whisking longer. Thanks for the suggestion.
