Official *What did you get in the mail today?* Thread!!!
My Yezi Tea samples came! Props for the nice packaging and generous samples—they threw in a freebie which meant 4 samples for under $3 shipping. Yay!
Getting a little nervous something happened to my Steap Shoppe order. I placed it on the same day as my Teavivre one, August 26, got shipping confirmations for both, and the Teavivre one arrived last Monday but still no sign of Steap Shoppe’s. Hrm.
I came home from work today, and there was a package sitting outside my door. I’m looking at it thinking, none of my recent order have had time to get here yet. What is this? I pick it up, and it’s from the US, has customs declarations on it, but no company name. OMG did I forget about a swap, no this looks like it’s from a company. I spend about 5 minutes looking at this package trying to figure out how bad I’m loosing it for not knowing what I’ve ordered.
So I open the package and it’s a tin of Andrews & Dunham tea, with a beautiful thank you gift note in it. It was from a generous person here on Steepster whom I’ve had the pleasure of exchanging a few packages. They saw one of my tasting notes and sent me a tin of tea.
You know who you are, THANK YOU!!!
This is the 2nd time a Steepster member has gifted me tea direct from the company. We have an amazing community here. There are A LOT of fabulous generous people on this site. These individual gestures happen because of the spirit in the community. What goes around comes around, it’s easy to be generous when you see it happening all around you. How many times have you read a tasting note and someone else comments, I have some of that I’ll send it to you. I see it pretty regularly. I know there are wonderful people in the world, but I think we have more than our fair share here.
Anyway, I just want to say THANK YOU to the entire Steepster community for making this the wonderful place that it is, and a great big YOU ARE AMAZING to this generous person.
Oh, reading that made me so happy, dex. I feel so lucky to belong to this community also.
So I come home today, and there is a Canada Post plastic bubble mail envelope sticking out of the mail slot in my door. Even as I’m walking down the hallway, I’m thinking, how can this happen two days in a row? What is that? I pull it out of the door and it’s an Express envelope, sender is a person’s name? Did not spend any time pondering it tonight. It was my TeaCupany order?!? I ordered this LATE Sunday night (after midnight late). They commented on one of my posts late Monday night that they were packaging it, it was sent Express post and I got it today.
WOW I’ve never gotten an order that quick. Good job guys. I really like that even their 10g samples are in silver resealable packages. Pretty impressed. If the teas are half as good as the service will be ordering from them again.
Got my swap from wheezybee today! Thanks so much!
I also got three free samples from Adagio blender Aun-Juli from a contest she had. Raggedy Man goodbye, Dark World, & Hyrulean Royal Tea. So excited to try these. I adore her blends and highly recommend them. Her art is awesome too.
I’m having a GREAT week. This is the third day in a row I’ve come home to a package outside my door. I love getting tea in the mail. Today was my Della Terra order!!!! Considering it came from the US that was crazy quick too.
dexter, you definitely deserve all the tea you get, since you genrously offer to share it with the lieks of me!
I dug around hopefully today in my very empty mailbox to see if my own dellaterra or verdant orders had arrived, but that was just me being greedy since I placed those orders like five minutes ago, relatively speaking. And something tells me there are some honeybush/rooibos teas winging their way here, also. maybe. ;)
… nothing, because my tea package accidentally got delivered to my parents’ house.
Yay, the mailman came through and I got tea in the mail AGAIN today. I got my swap from akgrowngirl – Thank you so much!!!
And I got my order from Camellia Sinensis. My new yixing teapot is really nice. Well packaged order, hand written thank you card, and a free sample. Thumbs up, good mail day.
(I have another couple I’m expecting – maybe Monday will be 5 in a row…?)
Yunnan Sourcing us order just arrived with my first yixing, and of course some more tea, because why not: http://i.imgur.com/DC2fkgb.jpg I think i’ll be using the yixing for ripe puerh.
also, i forgot to post it when it came, but my large yunnansourcing.com order arrived 2 weeks ago, it didn’t have any crazy stampage on it though, here it is: http://i.imgur.com/9GwNlCS.jpg stand outs so far are the classic shui xian and the 2009 feng qing ripe tuos. the thing on the bottom right was totally unlabeled (and a free extra), but I’m pretty sure it’s one of their chrysanthemum shu mini bricks, the smell from it really stunk up the entire box, the other stuff is fine now after airing out a couple weeks, but it was really bad at first, like it’d been shipped in a box of incense or scented candles for 2 months, in the heat of summer no less. Also, these were my first full size cakes, and it was surprising how small they actually are in person considering how much tea is packed into them.
