I finally found the pink box Lopchu! I also got some Osmanthus oolong and two of tea at seas teas.

A few weeks ago, I went to two Lupicia locations. One was smaller, and in a grocery store. I tried some samples, and bought Milk Caramel (roasted green).

So I’ve been buying A TON of teaware online. People were giving me a hard time about buying online and not supporting local artists. I didn’t really think that I would find what I was looking for locally, but what do I know. Yesterday I went to a pottery/ceramic gallery and bought the piece I post above and this one (ok it was labeled as a sugar bowl, but it works as a tea cup for me):

Today the Edge Urban Art Center was having a fundraiser and I picked up three more pieces….

I got all three of these for about the price of ONE that’s I’ve been admiring online. It’s true you can find really nice, inexpensive pieces locally. :))

That looks like a Japanese tea cup. Love it!

Actually, I love them all. I hope to find some nifty pieces at the upcoming craft shows in my area.

Port Jefferson, NY
I have found a great local tea shop that I wanted to share if anyone is ever around the area. They have over 100 different teas, Blacks, Green, Whites, Herbal and Rooibos. My two favorites are an all Organic Herbal sleep time tea. Puts me out in 30 minutes and wife tells me I stopped snoring too. It called “Relaxtion Blend” I stopped taking my Tylenol PM!!! They also have a great Rooibos called Winter Place Marzipan. WOW…!!! So many to chose from there. The place is called You Me and Tea. They also have a website that you can order from, www.youmeandtea.com. Love this place and hats off to the “little guy”. We need to support the little guys!!!

Clipper Ship Tea Company in Northport village is excellent too, they don’t have a website but are good. They can be found on Facebook. The Infuse Tea Bar at the Pleasures of Tea in West Sayville is good too. I have heard of You Me and Tea but have never made it there. How are their teawares?

I was back up in the Twin Cities this weekend celebrating the engagement of my former roommate. While I was there, I took the opportunity to visit Indigo Tea Company. After smelling LOTS of tea, I finally ended up selecting their black tea sampler pack, which included 1oz each of Vanilla, Raspberry, English Breakfast Ceylon, and Cinnamon Orange. Looking forward to trying them all!

Went on a Chinatown trip today in order to replace some things and search for a smaller gaiwan ( failed, once I decided what I wanted the store was closed) and took a few other side trips.

What I got: 1 bamboo tea tray
2 * 200ml gaiwans. ( I later saw another one I wanted but enough is enough and these were 3.99), a few teacups, a sharing pitcher, a glass gaiwan, a gongfu teapot, Marriage Frères French breakfast and two Compagnie Coloniale teas.

Was this Chinatown in New York City? Where did you go?

Toronto, sorry Allen.

For those who are interested.

I got most of my things at Tap Phong Trading co. Which has a lot of restaurant ware but also has cheap Gaiwan, tea pots, cast iron pots and some other nice pieces. Its at 360 Spadina.

I got the tea tray and the gongfu pot at the place labeled A&A trading company its about half a block up from the dark horse coffee shop. They also had some nice 200ml gaiwan, some cheap clay tea pots 9.95. Some of those porcelain tea sets with the porcelain tea tray, smaller gaiwan and cups among other items. I got the glassware at the first ground level apothecary on the South side of Dundas heading into China Town from the east. They have some gorgeous tea sets. I didn’t get to Chinese Arts and Crafts this time.

Went to the DavidsTea on the UES yesterday. It was strange to see that they were selling cast iron teapots and tea cups as well as some ombre mugs created by an independent artist. I wonder if any of the other DavidsTeas have these teaware items. Has anyone else seen these items at a Davids?

Aside from that, it was interesting to see the use of their new Breville foamers. I assume that with cow’s milk the machines work well, however, for soy milk they are so so. The soy foamed up a bit but not with a creamy and thick consistency. I got to sample the vanilla chai, bubbie’s baklava, apple custard, and wild black yunnan. I ended up taking more a small amount of sejak and the color changing perfect mug with the deer. So cute!

i was in Brooklyn 7th ave and they didnt have anything you mentioned. Also i was kinda disappointed w/customer service. i was talking to a guy abt some pu, but than another customer inquired abt Gyokuro and he totally abandoned me :( of course he sold him 250g of it. For a moment i thought i was in teavana. i just left

I’m sorry to hear that!! I, too, have noticed an increase of aggressiveness when it comes to sales at Davids. The only time in which I don’t see that these days is with the employees that I have known for a long time. OR when the store is almost completely empty. What pu were you asking about?

I was not incredibly impressed with the David’s Tea in the Roosevelt Field Mall but I still bought quite a lot a couple of weeks ago. Still have one of their teas to review, a green tea. I didn’t notice too much in the way of interesting teawares.

I went to a specialty food store nearby and purchased a tin of Paris (Harney’s and Sons) and a tagalong of Ambessa choco nut blend. Have to admit that the latter tastes as good as Paris (they have some similar notes) and I already mentally put it on my shopping list for a larger tin.

Today I had to do some Christmas shopping in the mall, they have a Teavana there. I couldn’t resist buying something as I was there. I picked out two flavored greens for their low caffeine content, Fruta Bomba, and Peach Jasmine Sutra. I transferred them to tins for storage later.
