Orange County, CA area meetup?

Hey guys! I just moved to south Orange County back in June, but I still have yet to get out and do much…so I was wondering if any local(ish) Steepsterites would be interested in a meetup/swap?

I’d be interested, though looks like I’m about 40 minutes away and I lack my own transportation, so it have to be a weekend so my husband can drive me.

Yay! I wonder if there is a tea shop or something half way that would be good so you wouldn’t have to come so far. Have you tried any in the area? I tried one in Irvine (Cha for Tea I think) and it was only ok.

I’ve been to the Lupicia in Torrance and an english tea restaurant here in Long beach (which was pricey). I haven’t been to any tea places here, I haven’t been in the US very long.
Ah, there’s a cha for tea in longbeach I should check out. Hmmm, see if we can find something in the middle that looks good! Don’t see any reviews on steepster.

So I’ve been looking and it seems like a lot of the tea results at the halfway point are Starbucks or boba tea (also good though), but I did find one that might be good called Craved Tea in Fountain Valley. It looks like it’s primarily boba/milk tea, but has a few other options too, plus one of the reviews on Yelp says you can get a refill within 2 hours for $1. There’s also a Peet’s Coffee and Tea in between Westminister and Fountain Valley – their website shows loose leaf teas with a far better selection than Starbucks, but I’ve never tried them either. Thoughts?

I’m down with going for boba! I haven’t found good boba here yet too!

Oh, I have tried a Peet’s tea, well, it was an ex roommates tin he left behind and it wasn’t too impressive. Don’t think I’ll buy any if I’m there too.

Should be more of us, I know there’s at least 3 or 4 others Steepsterites that live in the area, maybe they aren’t active anymore?

Anyways, I’m busy this weekend with family and the weekend after I got a jiu jitsu seminar – so I can meet end of the month or a weekend in May.

In the mean time, figure what teas to bring for swaps?

Cool! It seems like it’s been forever since I had boba.

I also thought there might be more than a few of us in the area – I thought once I moved to southern California there would be people everywhere :P

Is April 27 or 28 ok, maybe sometime in the afternoon? I’ll start poking through my teas to see what to swap. One of these days I’ll put everything in my steepster cupboard…

I’d up for it too! :) I’m also located in south OC. I can bring some tea as well for swap.

Awesome – does that date work for you too (April 27 or 28)?

If you can come up to LA sometime, you’re welcome.
