Price is $600. Shipping to the US is $8.88. Each sample is 100g so that averages to only 12 cents/g! (Note: I did not factor shipping into cost/g)

It’d be great to split w/ someone (or several people- I’d only need a 2g sample). Does anyone have a coupon code? … Maybe Jason can get this to be a SS item w/ a coupon code. =D

Wow that’s cool! $600 is a lot of money, but it’s a good deal compared with the price of the same thing I once saw in China.

I emailed them to ask some questions. I’ll post their response when I get it!=D I do agree that it’s a crap load of money- but as far as Pu Erhs go, it’s not too terribly outrageous depending on how large the samples are.

The samples are 100g each. Puerh is deadly heavy and usually costs a lot of money in transportation. So $600 buying in US is pretty good :D

A sample is 100g??? WOW! Ok that answers one of my questions:) Do you know how many, if any, are raw?

I am not exactly sure. But I think they are all raw, because traditionally there wasn’t shu puerh.
They are little compressed tea cakes of 100g, covering the 26 major mountains and their old tea trees, smaller tea bushes, and wild trees. Not something we can find else where for now. This set was made by a group of tea professionals in Taiwan and Korea. I just hope some people in mainland China can make something similar and of lower cost. But maybe this will not happen in near future.

This will be pure torture if they’re all raw. I could (and would) easily pass on cooked pu erh.

I know! I feel the torture too!

I don’t know how this is even possible, but this looks awesome!

I am still thinking of this set from time to time! I don’t think I can afford it, but can’t get it off my mind! And now it’s $888 already! Probably I will never be able to afford it. Oh that’s heartbreaking!

Thank you for bumping this thread.
I don’t think I’ll be able to afford this on my own despite my tendency to put off critical car repairs for fine tea, but I’ll see how much support I can rattle up locally and would be willing to go in on a group-purchase.

It’s so hard to know the quality and history behind these teas. I would be wary of spending $600 on young raw sheng pu’er without really knowing the back story behind each of these teas. Granted you would be getting a lot of tea, but that could be a really bad thing if you’re stuck with a mass quantity of shabby pu’er.

Who knows, I could be wrong. These could be the greatest things ever. However, my honest advice would be to sit tight. I know of a great source for pu’ers that will be shipping later on in the year. Unless you personally know the company and people you’re working with or have a love for young sheng pu’er I’m not sure how worth it this is.

Keep me updated though. You guys might know about this much better than I do.
