Valentine's Day Tea Party

Here are some pictures of the V-Day tea party I did at work.

Menu was egg salad rolls, bacon pecan sandwiches and spinach quiches for the savories. The sweets were strawberry chocolate cakes, cheesecake bites and chocolate-raspberry pasta with raspberry sauce and sugar cookies. Scones were lemon poppyseed with homemade mock clotted cream and lemon curd.

I served Honeysuckle White from Shang Tea, Eros from T, Silk Dragon Oolong from The Tea Merchant and Pistachio Ice Cream Green from Butiki. Oh, and cherry lemonade punch for something cold.

I don’t try very hard to pair my teas with the food at these work parties, but rather aim to introduce people to new teas each time. The Pistachio Ice Cream and the Honeysuckle White were the most popular. To be fair, there were only 6 people there, less than half the normal amount, and with more people you get to hear feedback on more teas. I’m pretty sure at least half of this group didn’t try more than 2 of the teas this time.

Did anyone else do any tea related Valentine’s celebrations?

Well, y’all are very nice. If any Steepsterites are ever in the Kansas City area and want a tea party, just let me know. Since we don’t have any good tea shops that serve both tea and tasty things, you can come to my house. :)

I never joke about good food. :) If tea parties paid as much as engineering, I’d do it. But I have to support my tea habit!

So pretty! Is your company hiring? It would be worth it just to enjoy nice tea parties, haha!
