Aladdin Tea infuser mug...cheap in Canada

Firstly I know that there have been plenty of posts about this tumbler but I feel this is needed. Upon reading a lot of reviews I found this one to have the most consistent. However, I never got around to buying one because the online shipping was too much or I hadn’t been in a store that carried them. All that changed when I went to the Atlantic SUPERSTORE in Dartmouth. I saw a pile of them on a shelf for only $14!!! I have not seen them that cheap anywhere. I was soo excited. I believe they will carry them at any Superstore in Canada that has sells housewares.

As for the review…I have used it a few times now and it keeps the tea hot for quite a while. I love that you can just lift the infuser basket out and sip away and not have to remove the infuser. most other infuser mugs you have to remove the tea or infuser which does not seem all that practical if you want to just steep while you go. This mug is amazing Especially for the price! It is plastic and not glass and dishwasher safe.

wow, thanks! I have one, but paid much more, $25. If I see it I will definitely be adding one more to my stash. It is great. My only complaint is that I have had a few tea leaves escape the basket only to discover it as it lodges in my throat.

I was wondering, as long as a coffee filter or an empty tea bag doesn’t impart a taste, you can line the brew basket to catch any fine bits. I think I might try this myself if only to facilitate washing the bits that clog my gravity mug such is the case with loose chamomile.

I haven’t noticed this product before but Bed Bath and Beyond website sells for $16.99. With either a 20% off or a $5 off $15, we stateside seem to get a good deal also. I will definitely look for it now. Thanks for bringing my attention to it. By the way, anyone pick up Bodum tea press tumbler from Ovation Teas clearance want to share opinion?

I read your review. It was actually one of the reasons I bought it!! I will do a more thorough review in a week or so. This is such a great product…..I may have to but another one or two for family and friends for gifts.

As soon as I read the title, I knew you were talking about Superstore. It’s the only place I’ve seen then. I’ve almost gotten one on numerous occasions, but I have a lot of tea “equipment” already, so I’ve passed merely because I haven’t got the room.

Superstore, on occasion, gets in lots of looseleaf equipment odds and ends (but very little—read: none—actual loose leaf teas). They’ve gotten in Aladdin’s flip-up tea infuser mug (the one you describe) and also a second model where you twist out the infuser. Most recently they’ve been getting in double-walled glass travel mugs with a removable (albeit not well-designed) infuser/filter, as well as Bodum glass mugs with filters, and Bodum teapots as well (on top of the usual teaballs and tongs and infuser sticks they get).

And yet they stopped carrying their only line of loose leaf teas several years ago. Superstore is a conundrum.

Yeah, I saw the Bodum travel mugs….They arent all that travel friendly unless you have a place for a big infuser baskey and an odd shaped cup holder or pouch in your backpack/bag

Yeah, I’ve never looked too closely at the Bodum travelware (because yeah, they DON’T look too travel-friendly…). But for Christmas I got a regular double-walled glass mug with infuser from them.

I’ve honestly too many mugs. But.

Went to my store today, sadly they did not have one. I will keep looking.

Picked one up at Superstore just a few weeks ago … Loving mine, although it doesn’t seem to keep the tea piping hot for long. Still highly recommend it.
