Spring is almost here (I hope!). What are your favorite spring teas?

The dreary weather we’ve been having lately has me dreaming of spring, and of shincha. I’m so looking forward to its release. This morning I just finished the last of my 2012 Shincha Houryoko from Den’s.

If you like shinchas, which brands and types are your favorites? Last year my favorite was Den’s Hashiri Shincha.

Edited to add: Or, if you have another favorite spring tea, what is it?

Today is Baba Marta festival in Bulgaria, meaning spring is coming. In Taiwan, spring tea harvest season is before Guyu in Chinese lunar calendar, usually before Qing Ming. Very excited! Can’t wait to taste the new teas, especially green and oolong teas. Spring harvest is the best seasonality for those.

New greens and oolongs sound good to me. When do those typically come out in Taiwan?

I’m probably going to preorder some of Den’s Shincha unless someone can recommend an even better one! :) advice?

Yay – just got an email from Den’s — Hashiri Shincha is available for pre-order. I enjoyed it so much last year. I wish I could afford to get a pound.

I received the e-mail, too, and did a little happy dance. Then I promptly ordered 2 ounces of it. Excited!

Iced greens are my go-to summer teas, especially mint, cherry, citron, and jasmine.
