new drink idea

today I got home and decided to make a tea, but do it very differently. I took a fruity and flavorful tea, and use only about 2 oz of water, 2 teaspoons of tea steeped it for about a minute longer, same temp. Then I put it directly into ice, and filled the cup up with club soda. Just like a delicious soda!

This sounds interesting and like something I’d try. Although I’m generally not a fan of soda water due to health concerns.

I think club soda has 0 calories, no sugar and very low sodium. Its just water that is carbonated, so no health concerns.

Okay (:

I’ll try it! I did put flavored matcha in club soda or ginger ale once, don’t remember which it was now, but I remember that it ended up tasting like a sherbet float. I want to get a Primo Flavorstation and make all my own syrups all natural, so this sounds like a fun way to do it!

How about a tea latte?
Ice Matcha Latte represents a tasteful variation from the classical matcha tea highly popular in Japan and used in the Japanese Tea Ceremony. The preparation time only takes 5 to 8 minutes, so if you have the right ingredients at home or you decide to buy them, you can enjoy a delicious drink in the comfort of your own couch or bed.
For the classic recipe you will need:

A teaspoon of matcha powder
A quarter of a cup of warm (not hot) water
Two teaspoons of honey
Half a teaspoon of ginger (I replaced it with cinnamon, because ginger isn’t what I would call my cup of tea)
A quarter of a cup of fresh juice (it can be apple, orange, pineapple, whatever you enjoy the most)
A quarter of a cup of milk and a cup of ice cubes.
The preparation is quite simple and rapid and all you need to do is to follow these steps:

Prepare the matcha tea by mixing the powder with the warm water in a bowl until it is completely dissolved.
Mix the tea with the honey, the fresh juice and the ginger.
Add in the milk and stir.
The final step is to add the ice cubes and blend this combination in a blender until it is completely mixed and gets a smooth appearance.

Ooh, although I would skip the ginger/cinnamon completely.

sounds great, though I may be one to skip/reduce the honey in favor of ginger and/or cinnamon, and likely skip the juice entirely.

Today someone gave me a coke for free without a meal… i just couldn’t finish it. From time to time i’ll have a soft drink with a meal (less and less over time), but today it was just so un enjoyable.. all I wanted was a fresh steep of tea… so i tossed the coke and made myself a first flush darjeeling oolong.

I have tried brewing loose leaf green tea, such as san xia long jing, more condensed than usual, and add a little organic rose water into it. The tea keeps its own characteristic with slightly aroma from the roses, not as strong as scented or flavored teas. Taste very natural! I like to keep green tea’s flavor as it is more.
