Music for Tea/ Tea for Music

Hey guys! I have a curiosity regarding music and tea. I would like to ask you what music do you enjoy when sipping a nice cup of tea in the evenings (or mornings)?
For instance, my morning tea goes really well with Bon Jovi and Vivaldi for a boost of energy, while during evening I prefer Enya and Blackmore’s Night for peaceful thoughts. Sometimes I spice things a little with Lana del Rey. Can’t wait to hear about your own preferences!

While it is not a type of music I typically listen to, I really enjoy putting on a classical record sometimes and laying back with a cup of tea. And maybe a good book. I like to enjoy all life’s pleasures at once. :)

Usually, whatever music I want to listen to at the time. Lately, that has been Flogging Molly, and Ghost of the Robot.

Hip hop, 70s vibe, instrumental, no lyrics but lots of interesting samples.

Wow… Really like this, Stacy. Never heard it before, but checked it out based on your description. I get so stuck in a rut with music. Nice to have something new to listen to.

RiverTea-Glad you like it.

Rachel-Nice, glad you are enjoying it! I listen to this a lot when I’m working on blends. I like to think the vibe is infused into the tea.

Ahhh! Butiki, love Blockhead! It’s Raining Clouds is a super track, love the Indian drum and bass vibe. Such an underrated band, I’m usually that weirdo who listens to stuff that most people never heard of!
P.S. just to clarify, I’m referring to my own experience with this band, I’m not saying you’re also a weirdo Stacy :-)

Glad to find another Blockhead fan! I love It’s Raining Clouds. I have 3 albums and all of them are fantastic. Hahaha, no worries I’m the weirdo music person in my group of friends too. I listen to really all types of music but am notorious to my friends for listening to experimental and ambient, and noise since it so different from what they tend to listen to.

Then I guess we are pretty similar in our music tastes :-) I am into indie rock alternative a lot, but I also listen to a wide variety of embient, electronica, experimental bands that no one seems to listen to!

I love, love, love listening to Jazz during tea time! My boyfriend (www.jamesdanielmusician.com) is actually a jazz musician so I’m spoiled and get live jazz from time to time in my home during sips ;) haha

Electronic music like Autechre, Richard D. James, Casino versus Japan. Alternative like Joy Division, Verve, Blur.

I enjoy Autechre from time to time and have a few cds. Went to see them live, it was pretty interesting watching the crowd dance to Autechre. Everyone had such different timing and the crowd wasn’t in sync since no one knew what was coming next.

Either classical piano or Kraftwerk, lol i know these are pretty opposite ends of the spectrum but both help me relax and make my tea experience that much more enjoyable :)

Love that…. I’m a classical pianist with eclectic tastes!

Yeah I used to play piano as well :) i love electro music though, more Synths, the better!

“Brans Freestyle”, simply because there is a line that mentions OOLONG TEA. However this song will NOT be appropriate for everyone. I enjoyed this song about 15 years ago….needless to say things have changed, but still good for a laugh if you like hip hop. I appologize in advance if you dont like it…..but I warned you!!!!

I’ve been loving the Songza app on my iphone lately, because it’s an awesome way to enjoy a pre-made playlist (some which feel like they’re made just for me!)

Faves so far would be Bonfire Nights and Beach Blanket Bingo (getting in the mood for summer already…despite the snowstorm we just had on the first official day of “Spring”)

Since I’m almost always drinking tea, you could call these my current tea playlists :)

Yay Songza!

I use Songza too and you’re right, sometimes it seems those lists are just for me only.
Snowstorm? This doesn’t sound too nice. I want to see the trees blooming and the beautiful snowdrops.

Have to go with the darker, more goth songs by the Smashing Pumpkins, esp. their Adore album. Also have to respect the fact that their lead singer, Billy Corgan, recently opened a tea house in Chicago (Madame Zuzu’s).

I just revisited some SP this week end, my personal favorite album is Siamese Dream. Favorite track and video: Everlasting Gaze from Machina album, K-I-L-L-E-R DRUMS!! But I also adore Adore :-)
(Had no clue Billy was into tea! It’s called Mme Zuzu, really? Why Am I not surprised! )
