Composting Tea Leaves

This week I tried composting my tea again. I’m putting my used leaves in a clay flower pot and tossing them with shredded paper and paper towels. I just keep the pot on my desk next to my tea tray, it doesn’t smell or anything at all. It’s working great so far!

You know, I have never thought of composting my tea. I do keep it in an open container in my fridge to soak up smells. It actually works, so long as the leaves are moist. When that container is full – which is like once a week – I sprinkle it on my carpet and vacuum it up. I know… it sounds crazy, but the moist old leaves pick up dog hair like nothing else.

Also, anyone try to make incense from used leaves?

I put some used Oolong in my oil burner with some water and got no scent at all

I just google’d it:

This one is saying to roll the tea into a ball. I am assuming they mean moist tea? I can’t imagine the tea would stay together…

This one is a bit complex, but could work with used loose leaf.
