"Spring Snow" Book and Tea Club
Our next book will be “Spring Snow” by Yukio Mishima.
We will be discussing the book and teas on May 8th! Happy Reading and Sipping!
We need to decide on a time frame – when does everyone think they can get the book and read it by? Should we say the beginning of May, maybe?
Also, what would everyone like to do as far as the teas go?
Please comment if you’ll be participating so we know how many to prepare for, as far as the teas go. :)
Would there possibly be room to join in?
Yay! :] You’ll have to explain the swap groups and how stuff works but I would love to join in!
I am definitely participating! Beginning of May sounds great, and I liked the way we did the teas last time—small group swaps. I already have a few picked out for it!
Oh my! I really want to join and read this book with you guys! I absolutely loved The Sound of Waves. So much imagery! If you guys can put up with a former high school English teacher’s potential madness, I’d love to join. I’m not sure how the swapping thing works for this though. :)
That’s great! The more, the merrier.
Last Te we split up into groups of 4 and swapped teas that we felt were appropriate for the book. The time before that we had a tea named after Anna Karenina, which inspired the whole thing!
The groups of 4 thing sounds like a good idea to me! I’d imagine some classic Japanese teas would do well here.
I’m in! I just put the book on hold from the library! (So now I’m not worried about an ebook).
Not sure if I’ll be able to do the swap or not this time – will let you guys know when the details are hammered out.
(I just don’t know what I’d have to offer this time around that isn’t DavidsTea or something common).
I am so looking forward to reading Spring Snow in the springtime. I have ordered it from my local library and it looks as though it will arrive soon. I think reading it by the beginning of May is fine, does that work for everyone else?
I made a little bento box snack in honor of Spring Snow! It had a little tamago (Japanese sweet omelet), carrots sticks, cucumber, orange slices and some pepitas. I can’t wait to get the book and begin reading. I only have a very little gyokuro left, but I plan to sip that and savor it while I read.
