Dying Easter Eggs with Tea

I was inspired by Stash’s post: http://blog.stashtea.com/image/46616109716

I’m using English Breakfast, Lipton’s Ginger Twist and Island Mango & Peach, Stash’s Black Chai, Celestial Seasoning’s Lemon Zinger, Twining’s Mandarin Honeybush, and rooibos.

EDIT: I’ll post pictures tomorrow for better lighting.

I saw Stash’s post too, and think I may try this tomorrow. Would love to see how yours turn out!

That looks really cool! Though, I gotta figure out which tea I’d need to sacrifice in order to make it!

They should be finished dying tonight. I’ll post pictures then. So far, it seems that the rooibos and Island Mango & Peach are the weakest. The ones with noticeable color have squiggly lines.

I used cheap brands for that reason, Awkward Soul. :) My mom thinks the tea is going to waste, so she saved the tea bags and is planning on combining them – all seven of them – into one cup. BLARGH. I can update on this too, if anyone wants to find out…

Oh how pretty are those tea-dyed eggs. Very lovely, do post pics Kiwi. Here are mine that I just finished awhile ago, just ordinary dye tablets.
I drew a bunny on a blue one with the wax crayon but all you can see in the pic are his ears.

Here they are! This is what happens if you only use 1 bag per bowl (I was stingy).

they turned out pretty neat! I like the textures – looks like planets or rocks.

I want to try cheap matcha! Wouldn’t bright green be pretty? I love those brown eggs, though, Kiwi. I love, the earthy, natural colors.

That would be interesting; I’d love to see.

Never would’ve thought of matcha. Next year then! And thanks! I’m very happy with the variety that came out from these different teas :)
