Thank you all for the responses! I really appreciate the feedback :)

We’ve had over 100 responses so far. The top-rating name is “The Wise Monkey Tea Company” and in a close second “Hilltop Teas.” I have no idea which one we’ll take haha, I think the monkey name will make us stand out more, so maybe that one.

Very exciting!! Thanks again folks.

Hi everyone,

Thanks again for all of your input on the survey! As you can see in my avatar, we’ve officially branded ourselves as “Wize Monkey” since it was the highest-scoring name on the survey.

My business partner and I are heading down to Central America next week to get things started, and we could not be any more excited! We’ll be back in September with our finished product, and we’ll be sure to send some samples to all of you :D

Our company will greatly rely on customer feedback and the input we can get from Steepsters such as yourselves.

If you’re interested in following our adventure, you should check us out on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook… it’s going to be a wild ride!

Hi everyone,

Thanks again for your support! We’ve released the first video from our journey to bring an ancient tea to the modern world:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfDXJHuwfww

We’re now in Estelí, northern Nicaragua! It’s a beautiful region and so full of culture and great people. We’ve met with our tea processor and we couldn’t be more excited. Their facilities are totally renovated and all of their processes are organic and modern. There is so much potential here, and we can’t wait to get things going.

Yesterday we visited a supplier’s farm and went up to an amazing viewpoint with a great couple from the UK (Simon and Jill, what’s up!). After scoping out some areas and taking in the cool mountain air, we went back down and checked out a waterfall for a swim and a picnic lunch, oh how it was refreshing! While we we’re at the falls, a pitbull chomped my left hand… so I got a rabies shot when we got back into town. Other than that, it was a terrific day all around.

As for the business side of things, we’re still waiting on some answers from a few suppliers. By Tuesday we’ll be heading to the highlands for some meetings, then who knows where we’ll be… you’ll just have to check out our Facebook page and see for yourself!

Keep steeping,
Max @ Wize Monkey

Good luck with your business. If you find that you want to offer farm-direct tea to your customers please check out www.tealet.com/wholesale . We are an online marketplace for tea growers to sell directly to their buyers, including wholesale buyers. We will be launching a catalog soon where you can try samples and buy from the growers at price equal to or lower than the prices that you can get from them directly.
