[US] Tea swaps for US to US only

I’ve got 99% of the White2Tea Old Reliable that came in the W2T monthly (that 1% was me making sure I still don’t like shu).

I’m down to trade for an equivalently valued quantity of non-smokey aged or semi-aged sheng, or rock oolong of any age.

Respond or PM me if you’re interested!

Hello! I am a mod on reddit’s /r/teaexchange. I recently joined Steepster since I’d like to trade more! I have lots of teas available for trade or cost. Hopefully it’s okay to link:

Edit 3/27: new big list at https://www.reddit.com/r/teaexchange/comments/4c5ald/sample_sale/

Welcome to Steepster! I’d be interested in buying Harney: Herbal Hot Cinnamon, Harney: Soba, up to a dozen bags of Mugicha, and Rishi: Ginger Lime Rooibos.

JK7ray said

Yay, glad to be here. Thanks Melissa! PM sent!

boychik said

Hi JK7ray
I would be interested in Whatcha Imperial Pearl Brandy oolong and Indonesian Dark TGY . I follow you ;)

slb2221 said

I’d be interested in Harney Earl Grey supreme, Harney Irish Breakfast, or Rishi Vanilla Bean. Please check out my cupboard

JK7ray said

Wow, how great to receive so many PMs and comments! Two packages are already in the mailbox, and boychik’s is ready to go once confirmed.

What a warm welcome on Steepster!
I look forward to sharing lots and lots of tea!

You have an awesome trade list! I’m interested in several of your teas and I can pay cost since I don’t have any trade cred around here yet. :P I guess I’ll follow you and then you can let me know how much shipping will be and . . . do you have Paypal? Paypal makes everything easy. ;)

Anyway, the ones I’d like to try (if you still have them) are:
Adagio Ceylon Sonata
Harney Tippy Yunnan
Adagio Puer Spice
Adagio Strawberry
Harney Chocolate
Harney Florence
India Darjeeling Autumn Flush Gopaldhara Red Thunder Gold Black Tea
Indonesia Dark Roast Tie Guan Yin Oolong
Malawi Livingstone’s Twist & Dry Oolong

Well, it looks like I ended up being interested in more than “several,” haha. Anyway, I don’t need more than 10g of each, as I’m still in the stage where I want to taste everything but am not sure what I’ll end up liking. Oh and I live in the US :) So yeah, just PM me about the shipping :) Yay!! :)

JK7ray said

Hi sensiblyscript! PM sent!

Also I want to mention to anyone reading this that if your preference is to trade, let’s give it a go. I trust you no matter how much “cred” you have or don’t have. :)

JK7ray said

psst… I’ve added three A Quarter to Tea samples! and a couple Verdant teas also.

Great list…I’d love the Verdant Laotian black, the What-Cha Georgia black, and any of the What-Cha oolongs that are still available. I’m following you here on Steepster so feel free to follow me as well and check out my cupboard. I’m also up for swaps or just purchasing your teas. You can reach me at justnord AT gmail DOT com

JK7ray said

Awesome, justnord, pm sent!

Also, I just added three more Verdants for trade or cost — Bergamot Rose Laoshan Black, Laoshan Black Chocolate Genmaicha, and Campfire Blend (tisane) in addition to the Imperial Breakfast Blend and straight Laoshan Black.

Also a couple new freebies and the aforementioned Quarter to Teas, including Syrupy Pumpkin Pancakes!

Update 3/27 – new list at https://www.reddit.com/r/teaexchange/comments/4c5ald/sample_sale/

Equusfell said

Hi, I’d be interested in swapping or paying for:
- the Syrupy Pumpkin Pancakes and Apple Brandy Cheesecake oolong from A Quarter to Tea
-the What-Cha Vietnam Red Buffalo, Thailand Sticky Rice Oolong and China Dan Cong
-as well as the Kukicha from Yunomi

If you see anything you like in my steepster cupboard, please pm me about it (most likely it is a sample, but I will do my best), if not please let me know how much I owe you!

I got my samples today. Thank you so much. Everything is wonderful

JK7ray said

Awesome, boychik! You are most welcome.

Both people have to be following each other in order for either of them to send a message.

JK7ray said

That explains it. Thanks, rosebudmelissa!

Maybe they’ll just happen to follow me back so I can ask if they want to trade? That seems like a strange design choice.

Hi there, I just listed a swap here and saw yours. Let me know if any of mine sound interesting. Following you now. Thanks!

Its been a long time since I’ve been active on Steepster. I have greatly reduced my tea collection and have no given into tea temptations until recently. These were given to me and I don’t particularly like them.

- Genting Hong Kong Selected Souchong Black Tea
(tin with 9 individually packaged loose teas 1g each)
- Culinary Teas Chocolate Rose Tea
(in a 1oz kusmi tin)

Got most of a cake of http://yunnansourcing.com/en/2014/3323-2014-menghai-7262-recipe-ripe-pu-erh-tea-cake.html

I rather foolishly blind ordered it without sampling when I made a big YS order, and I think it’s ok, but not really good enough for me to wanna drink a whole 357g of it. So depending on what ppl wanna do, I could send somebody all of what I have (probably ~325g), or break it up if you also don’t want the whole thing lol. Interested in trading for raw puerh (trying to get a feel for these and try a lot of them) or oolongs. Open to gram for gram trades or sending a lot for smaller amount of higher quality, whatever works, just kinda want to unload at least a good bit of this guy. Thanks, people :)

Edit: Forgot to include, it’s been stored in my house in Michigan for a couple weeks after getting it from YS’s Chinese site. Neither overly humid or dry here, plus it’s only been here a very short duration.

Hi everyone! So in the fever of the holidays I bought a lot of tea from Teavivre, thinking I’d love and drink all of it. But as it turns out, I’ve gotten really tired of the teas I have (namely the Keemun Grade 2, and the Monkey-Picked and Tie Guan Yin oolongs), and have fallen in love with pu-erh (of which I have pretty little). If anyone wants any of these teas (probably have about 50g of each, at least), I’d be willing to trade for a good ripe or raw pu-erh chunk!

I’d be interested in trying any White2Tea productions, especially Old Reliable and Little Walk. Thanks!

Matu said

Hey! I have the post just before yours on this thread, and still have that tea (2014 Menghai 7262 Ripe). So if you’d be interested in trading for that, I’m most interested in the Tie Guan Yin and Monkey-picked oolongs. Send me a msg if you’re interested. Doesn’t have to be 1:1 trade, I can send you 100+g for 50g or whatever works haha. Lemme know :)

Hi there! That sounds like an awesome trade—I’m new to Steepster and embarrassingly can’t figure out how to message you… Ha so if you could message me that’d be great.

Matu said

Sent you a msg. Seems like maybe we had to be mutually following each other or something lol, I’m rather new to Steepster as well.

Hello!

I’m looking to try more sheng puerh and have never had yellow tea. I’m open to other teas too, but should stay away from blends because I have Celiac disease and must avoid gluten.

Here’s what I’ve got to swap! Weights approximate.

What-cha
Nepal pearl 7g
Indonesia harendong black 7g

Verdant
Jin jun mei 19g
Herbal chartreuse 15g

Tea from Vietnam
Gui fei oolong 28g

Dachi
Indonesian red oolong 7g
Iron goddess oolong 10g

Liquid Proust
Fake mead 33g

elena-z said

Hi! Do you still have the teas? I’d be interested in Verdant oolongs. I’m in Milwaukee. I have some sheng and yellow. Following you!

Hi everyone. I just recently joined Steepster and got around to updating my cupboard tonight in hopes to find someone to trade a little tea with. I’m very much into herbals, especially those with nutty, piny, and floral notes and also am trying to extend my familiarity with blacks (bold, complex chais are my favorite). While I’d especially love to trade for any of those teas on my wishlist, I’d certainly be open to anyone who has a thing or two in their own cupboard that they think I might enjoy (ideally at least 4 servings of each tea). I’m currently studying for the MCAT, and tea has become a really lovely simple pleasure to both start and end the day.

Note: a better formatted version of this post, complete with tea links, is on reddit’s /r/teaexchange and found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/teaexchange/comments/4c3zd7/looking_to_trade_anything_in_my_cupboard/

DAVIDs: between 1-2 oz available
Queen of Tarts
Earl Grey Rooibos
Cherry Blossom
Sweet Dreams
Serenity Now
The Earl’s Garden
Toasted Walnut
Mulberry Magic
Cranberry Pear

Adagio: each is an unopened 1.5 oz
Ceylon Sonata
White Peach
White Pear

My personal favorite teas, so far, have been these, in case this gives a better idea of what I’m hoping to find out there, since I haven’t started any reviews on Steepster quite yet:
Bellocq’s Le Hammeau
DAVIDsTEA’s Forever Nuts
DAVIDsTEA’s The Glow
DAVIDsTEA’s Saigon Chai

Thanks for taking a look!

I posted a new tea sample sale. Biggest one yet.
https://www.reddit.com/r/teaexchange/comments/4c5ald/sample_sale/

I buy in large quantities and then make the tea available at cost. So you can get a bunch of 10g samples (or less or more…just ask) but at the equivalent of a bulk discount, instead of paying a premium for a sample size. Similar to Liquid Proust’s offers (I’m on board for Dark Matter!), with the option to pick and choose.

What-Cha, Quarter to Tea, Yunomi, Harney. Black, oolong, green, white, yellow, flavored, and a few herbals. No puer yet but I would like to include it in the future, along with teas from Yunnan Sourcing, White2Tea, Crimson Lotus, Mountain Tea, etc, if there is interest.

Jude said

Hi – wondering which of the teas, if any, are grown without pesticides, etc, i.e., chemical-free.

LuckyMe said

Verdant’s teas are grown chemical free. The only other one I could recognize was an organic green tea from Yunomi.

I’ll give you some time, but I see some stuff I would be up to trading for :)

JK7ray said

Jude, all of the following What-Cha teas are grown at certified organic farms, according to the info on What-Cha’s site:

Nepal Cannon Ball Green Tea
Indonesia Harendong Twisted Green Tea
Nepal SFT Black Tea
Ceylon Idulgashinna Hand-Made ‘Blink Bonnie’ Oolong Tea
Ceylon Idulgashinna Hand-Tied ‘Nightingale’ Oolong Tea

Malawi Livingstone’s Twist & Dry Oolong Tea specifically mentions “care for the local environment, providing their employees a fair wage and contributing to the local community,” though I didn’t see any specifics about their growing practices. The farm’s website is http://www.satemwa.com

There’s also the Organic Standard Sencha from Yunomi.

@JK7ray, I’d like to purchase some tea. Would you please follow me?

Thank you.
