close..but not quite. gaiwan has a wider mouth..and the pitcher should have a handle coz the water will be too hot to handle without one…but you can use ordinary cups at home in place of a gaiwan – learned it from verdant website vid :D

I really like that but I don’t think it is a Gaiwan set either :)

I think the lid on the cup in your photo would be difficult to use as a gaiwan, see how the lid on the gaiwan is slightly inside the cup/bowl so it can hold the leaves in and let the water out :)
