So uh, is this a Gaiwan set?

Just curious
close..but not quite. gaiwan has a wider mouth..and the pitcher should have a handle coz the water will be too hot to handle without one…but you can use ordinary cups at home in place of a gaiwan – learned it from verdant website vid :D
I really like that but I don’t think it is a Gaiwan set either :)
This one is a Gaiwan set, http://www.yunnansourcing.us/store/product.php?id_product=285
I think the lid on the cup in your photo would be difficult to use as a gaiwan, see how the lid on the gaiwan is slightly inside the cup/bowl so it can hold the leaves in and let the water out :)
I agree with these opinions here, this is not a Chinese Gaiwan tea set, and a Gaiwan set should be like this: http://www.teavivre.com/bone-china-tea-sage-gaiwan-tea-set/
It looks like a Gawain/Competition set hybrid to me.
