I’m back to the 2007 Banna Prince by Long Yuan Hao after a few mths in a cardboard container. The huigan is spectacular. It’s not fast, actually you have to wait a minute or two and then wait for a perfume and vanilla etude with an ever so slight hint of sandalwood to unfold. Throaty in the later infusions. Still quite young, with it having been quite dry stored and a liquor a light brass. Textured. Subsequent infusions offering variations on a theme. Some bitter but not Ba Qi Bitter.

2011 San He Zhai. This one is just over the cusp of being more of a middle-aged tea. Highly textured, there are notes of peat moss, smoke and peaches, with some hints of deeper more leathery flavors on the horizon…

I tried this one a couple of times this summer. I was surprised how little I payed for such a good tea. It is not a gushu experience but highly enjoyable nevertheless.

I have the 2013 version I think. Good promise to see how it is turning out. And Ginkosan, I blamed my latest tea order on you. The Ze Zhu Tang and the Huang Shan especially….

I have also the 2013 version but I find the 2011 to be better. As ginkosan wrote peaches and leather with some smoke which are starting to melt together.

I am in the middle of the 2015 w2t Bosh. The taste is silent, delicate but very nice, the thickness is good, not much bitterness, some aftertaste. The qi however is loud and strong. I feel like nailed to the sofa while sweating. Teas like this requires full attention to grasp its beauty.

Having a Yunnan Sourcing ""CHEN YUN YUAN CHA" from 2011. I remember I got this when I first started shopping at YS. I think the blend of two teas from 2008 is what grabbed my attention.
I remember some about this from the last time. The color seems to be about the same. The tea itself is coming along. It seems to have some more oomph in there. You can get the light notes of the camphor floating around in there along with some evergreen and the punch of the bitter is a bit more pronounced. The bitter hangs on the tip and sides of the tongue and subsides to a savory almost herbal note with just hints of sweetness to it. I have done 2 different sessions in the last 2 days of this one. It seemed I couldn’t put it down or maybe I was too full of turkey to get another out.
Good drinking none the less.

2013 San Ke Shu. I am, unfortunately, almost done with this cake. It is clean, green and buttery, and has only gotten thicker in the year that I’ve had it.

I was finishing up some 2007 Naka from Chawangshop and not really feeling it, so I decided to switch to ripe and break out the 2006 Gongting Shu from the October club. This cake should be renamed to “Caffeinated as #$&%.”

Today I tried a new ripe from Yunnan Sourcing, the 2015 Jui Wan “Impression” Ripe Puerh Tea. This was a fairly bittersweet shou. It had a fairly well lasting bitter character along with some sweetness too. This tea was not as good as I had hoped it would be but it was good.

There is a rich thick body with a great level of qi. This is a rather agreeable aged pu’er. I’m enjoying a 25 year old tea that gives that nice euphoric feeling. I feel now that pretty much anything aged more than 12 years gives a well balanced mix of flavors and its euphoric feeling .
