Tomorrow morning I’ll be sipping for the first time 2015 Gu Ming Xiang “Yi Wu meets Bu Lang” from Yunnan Sourcing at work. More serious analysis will be done this weekend at home where I have more control of steeping parameters.

its nice sheng. pretty mild for the young sheng in my book. Enjoy and let us know your experience.

Without proper facilities to steep tea at work here is a summary of my personal findings: A very decent young pu’er tea, smooth, thicker liquor than usual for such a young pu’er tea, slightly sweet and with a light tobacco like aroma. This tea’s aroma reminds me of a certain Shiraz wine of a few decades ago. It made my start of the day!

Shou: After a late dinner I will have some of the 2001 CNNP “Lucky Brand Y562” ripe pu-erh, and I like it strong.

2000 FuYuanChang YiBang (from White 2 Tea)
Revisiting this YiBang sheng. Full and rich in the mouth, sweet and quite aromatic but yet it has a definite mature aged presence. Copper-tone tea soup which is very clear. Characteristically small YiBang leaves with lots to give. Eight steeps in and only using 8-10 second infusions at this point. W2T has been out of this one for some time now. Fortunately, I decided to take a chance and purchase when he had a few left because good aged YiBang material is hard to come by.

2008 Menghai Dayi “Da Yi Hong” Ripe
Reminded during this morning’s tea session that Menghai Dayi built their reputation by developing good ripe teas and this one is a prime example. This delicious shu offers a very pleasant mix of flavors – dates, spices and a gentle woodiness. The first two cups are dominated by a nice earthiness but the sweetness, fruitiness and spiciness build quickly throughout the following infusions. No fermentation flavors at all. Very warming cup which is full of complexity throughout the tea session. Solid longevity – good for many resteeps ( I enjoyed eight flavorful cups today).

Yiwu Snake Blend 2013 Spring by Tea Urchin

Usually I keep small portions of some 4 or 5 shengs outside my humidor as daily drinkers. Today I was lucky with my choice. Once again I am enjoying this smooth, sweet and creamy tea tremendously.

W2T Little Yellow Mark. Big tobacco notes, full and smooth dark red soup. This is the real deal…

Old Reliable W2T. Nice, rich and smooth. Zero funk ( I couldn’t notice any fermentation flavor)

I’ve been debating whether to buy this one.

i think its very good and very safe for beginners

I haven’t bitten into this one yet. I’m letting it air, it didn’t have any funk to it, but I think it needed some time to air the younger shou notes, but I’m really looking forward to it.

I’m having W2T’s 2004 YPH. I started this one yesterday, I have to admit I didn’t care much for this one when I first got it, but it is a very smooth and reliable drink with age to it.

No idea what sheng I sipped today. As usual, pulled out one of my little packets of tea from the drawer and steeped some leaves. It did look and feel like a 2007/8 old sheng due to the brick like colour of the liquor and its degree of smoothness.
