National Iced Tea Day

OK, I have never heard of National Iced Tea day, (June 10th) but hey any reason to drink tea is good by me.

I read this post this morning and applaud River Tea for doing the research and getting the history correct.

Ha! That is awesome news KS, thanks for sharing a piece of tea history with us! Now we know what seems to be one of the original recipes :-) Rich cream & almost 2 cups of sugar? Guess Dr. Oz was not around back then, haha!

Makes my kidneys hurt just thinking about it :^) Maybe that is why they added the alcohol – to numb the pain.

I know it is a little thing but I get tired of reading iced tea was invented at the St Louis Worlds fair in 1904. It was around before and even other booths had it listed on their menu in St Louis. Richard Blechynden just happened to be good at selling it and making it popular. A great feat in itself to be sure.
