Let’s go for Hitchhiker’s Guide. My teenager has been pressing me to read them, anyway, maybe this’ll be a little extra motivation.

I need a change of pace so I’m just going to wait and see which book wins and then go and buy it. I have the kindle for mac on my computer so it should be easy to get.

I don’t have strong feelings one way or the other, though I would probably opt out on rereading Gatsby or Brothers Karamazov as I’ve read Gatsby way too many times already and read Karamazov rather recently (and it’s v. long).

I am editing this to vote for For All the Tea in China after reading the Breaking News.

There are many books in the list that attract me. But because of the Breaking News, I vote for For all the Tea in China.
Hope it’s not a super long book :-p

The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency would be my pick. All the Tea in China sounds pretty interesting, but I might get to that on my own _ I’ve read several of the Hitchhiker’s Guide books and not been impressed, so that’d be an opt out for me.

Can I change my vote? The copy I requested of For All the Tea in China just got to the library, so that would be my pick (now that it’s so easy!)

All the tea in China is my choice. It is $12 bucks on Amazon.com…

Oh, Cofftea – consider doing that anyway (about DLing kindle for PC) because they offer free books (not samples but whole books) every week of newly published books (of every genre) and, of course, all the ones that the copyright has expired are also free (thousands of titles). It sounds like it, but I’m not associated with amazon or anything like that, just a huge fan of kindle (for PC & ipod touch).

I have the Kindle for Mac app, which a) lets me get away with reading at work, b) is a great place to store samples so they’re not cluttering up my Kindle’s home pages :)

Kindle samples are also generally longer, and always of much better reading quality than the “Look Inside” previews available on Amazon. And once you have the Kindle for PC/Mac App installed, it takes literally only 1-2 seconds longer to load a Kindle sample as to load the Look Inside preview.

I’ll vote for Julia Child’s My Life in France.

It sounds lovely… I’ll probably read it anyway even if it’s not chosen!

I vote for For All the Tea in China: How England Stole the World’s Favorite Drink and Changed History. I am ordering it today from Amazon.
