Need Gift Suggestions - Fair Trade Black Tea

I want to send a “tea” gift to a friend in the UK. I don’t know a lot about her favorites except she likes “high quality, fair trade black tea with cream”. She likes some teas flavored with fruit or ginger, but doesn’t like green or white tea. I think she’d prefer a fairly strong, traditional black tea.

I really want to get something special for her as a treat and would appreciate any suggestions. A UK tea company may be best, but any company that would ship to the UK without crazy high shipping rates is fine too.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions. :)

Have you thought about ordering from Rishi? They’re US-based, but ship world-wide, although I’m not sure how much they charge for international shipping. They have a great selection of black teas, I buy the China Breakfast by the pound and it is a good strong black tea.

Here is a link to their fair trade FAQ, it’s really detailed

Thanks! I tend to drink more flavored teas, so I was unsure when it came go more straight teas. :)

If you want to try a couple out I can send you small samples of the China Breakfast, Earl Grey Lavender, Rose Melange, and possibly Peach Blossom. I think that is all I have in my cupboard right now, I haven’t ordered from them in a while.

Thank you, SS, but that’s not necessary. I just appreciate the suggestion for a gift for my friend.

I plan on ordering the Black Tea Sample Set for my mother’s birthday. It includes an ounce each of Earl Grey, Ancient Golden Yunnan, China Breakfast, and Darjeeling Second Flush for $19. I’m not sure if that fits in your budget, but it is a nice overall representation of Rishi’s black teas. I’ve tried them all except for the Darjeeling and really enjoyed them.

You could try looking into Bluebird Tea or Pure Aroma, both are based in Europe I believe.
