Adagio Tins not airtight after a few uses?

I’ve bought several adagio tea tins, and recently I’ve noticed that some of them are not airtight anymore. They do not make the popping noise while opening, and also, some of my tea has really suffered and lost a lot of it’s smell. Has anyone else had this issue? I’m thinking to try david’s tea tins or rishi’s instead. The lack of a latch makes it seem like they’ll hold up better.

I don’t know what the tins you mean look like exactly, so it might not work, but perhaps you could cut a square of fabric and put that over the opening before closing the lid, so that when the lid is closed, the fabric is wedged in. Do you understand how I mean? I’m not sure how to explain it. I think it would make the fit between the lid and the tin tighter.

from the looks of it, david’s tins hold 15oz (depending on the tea), are cheap compared to similar tins, and block out light (something that adagio tins don’t, because of the glass top).

The tops of the Adagio tins are plastic and UV blocking.

15 oz? That seems like a lot. I think a lot of the teas you can fit 100 g in, which is about 3.5 oz, but of course that all depends on the tea.

He means 15 fluid ounces capacity, 450ml, or just under 2 cups, how much tea that is by weight will vary depending on the tea.
