Considering a new Traveling Tea Box- [SIGN UPS CLOSED- UPDATED 8/16]
I just got the box today! It was supposed to arrive yesterday and I was so bummed it didn’t get here in time! So many teas already to choose from, haha! I’ll do my best to go through everything and pass it on quickly. Thank goodness I’m off today and tomorrow!
Hey guys. So… according to what I’ve been reading, miscarriages have been linked to caffeine and because there is caffeine in black, green, and white tea they say I should avoid it. T_________________________________T
I know there are still plenty of other teas but I think perhaps I should drop out of the box for now seeing as how I really wouldn’t be able to try much. I am super sadface. I was really looking forward to this but I have to keep the babys best interest in mind. Artp I’m really sorry but could you removed me from the list?
I’d really hate for you to miss out. Since I’m the one sending it to you I could always load it up on herbals you could sample that way you don’t need to drop out.
I feel the same. As long as there is some stuff in there I can sample I think it would be fine. I have stuff I want to add too! If anyone see’s anything in my cupboard let me know!
Once again, just remember that some herbals are also linked to miscarriage. Raspberry leaf for one, though I think chamomile is also to be avoided. At least that is what “they” say at the moment. :) I am sure there are more.
true. Very true. I think doing a tea box would be more beneficial when I can sample more things anyway.
Chamomile is actually what my OB had me switch to during my pregnancy when I started having trouble sleeping, however, every pregnancy is different. I would just double check with your doctor, mine was very helpful in dissecting the ingredients of my herbals and letting me know what wasn’t safe. There are plenty of things they say to avoid in the first trimester that are considered safe for the second and third. Her words were of advice for anything we weren’t 100% positive on were to either avoid it or drink it in moderation and she left that decision to me.
I’ll make sure to send you a list of ingredients for the herbals I send you and if there is something specific you want to avoid let me know and I’ll make sure not to include it.
SkySamurai I don’t mind removing you, just would like some confirmation before I do so, since people seem to be making a pull to include you. If that’s what you prefer, it’s not problem.
I know the box has left me but I just got a whole lot of rooibos in the mail that I will be happy to send on to whoever might have the box next so SkySamurai can have more choices. (A quick google gave me a number of sites that said rooibos was okay.)
Did you want to just send it on to me since I’ll be sending the box to her? That will keep the cost of shipping down for everyone else.
Ok I’ve sent the box on it’s way today! It shouldn’t take too long since we’re staying in NC still!
Happy to report that the box arrived this afternoon. I’ll work on it over the weekend and try to get it out in the mail by mid-week. Box is still in good shape and full of interesting teas!
Sorry Artp! Things have been crazy. But I have good news! And this is the main thing I have been waiting for before giving the hay or nay. I went to see the doctor yesterday (Had to find a new one cause my other one apparently isn’t covered by my insurance anymore, but the new people are good) …anyway. She said as long as I am drinking under 300 uhh… grams mg? something like that. As long a I drink only 1 cup a day (tea with caffeine) it will be fine.
So all that being said. I think it would be fine to send me the box!

I have added a diversity of selections from my own tea collection – 9 blacks, 4 greens, 3 whites, 3 rooibos, 2 oolong, 1 pu’er, 1 yellow, 1 guayusa, 1 mate. I’ve also thrown in several different tea bag selections (rooibos, mate, pu’er, herbal). Each of my tea contributions is clearly marked with my tag and name. Given that I added more to the box than I took out, if anything interests you please take it for yourself.
