Limerick Contest!
I have a number of teas that I want to move on to a new home. Things I haven’t fallen in love with, or just don’t think I’ll drink. I’d like to give this box of tea to someone who may appreciate it, but rather than just post the list to the “Take it Away” thread, I’d like to do something a little more creative and interesting.
Would you like to win a box of mystery tea? If so, post an original limerick in this thread on the topic of tea. Entries should be posted by May 3rd at 6pm Central Standard Time. I will judge the entries and select a winner by the next day. This contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world. Since it’s my tea, I will be the final judge. :)
I promise the mystery box will have at least 10 types of tea in it, probably quite a few more (I’ll be cleaning my cupboard out a little between now and then), and there will be more than enough for multiple cups out of most of them. (I will include a few single serving samples, just because.)
I hope this interests at least a few of you!
You may enter multiple times, as long as you’re entering multiple limericks you have personally written.

Wombatgirl wants to give away tea
To one home (not to two, not to three)
So she asks us to rhyme
(Even more than one time)
And look silly as silly can be. ;-)
When on my teabag water falls
aroma from my cup enthralls
I lift out that sack
but am taken aback!
The teabag was my best friend’s balls!
There was a young lady of Bree
With a fever; a hundred and three!
She was held upside-down,
Her legs spread (with a frown)
And was used to make two pots of tea!
Love this idea!
Here goes nothin’:
There once was a tea called darjeeling.
It was spicy and full of “mouth feeling.”
Both morning and night -
it’ll hit you just right.
Don’t oversteep or you might hit the ceiling.
There once was a girl who brewed oolong
Who let the leaves soak a bit toolong.
When she took the first sip,
She was noted to quip,
“At least it’s not (bleccch!) lapsang souchong!”
Pee hee, awesome!
On the ‘net there’s one site you must see.
It’s a place just for talk about tea.
Steepster is its name;
You can go without shame
And carry on about tea just like me!
It is said, in some regions of Taiwan
Green tea is prepared in a gaiwan.
I have never used one,
But it sure sounds like fun.
So I’ll probably go out and baiwan.
