Anyone else having trouble getting their notices?

Reviving this thread because my notice number has been stuck at 4 for a week. A couple of days ago it bumped up to five. I clear my cache including cookies and super cookies every time I close my browser. Any other suggestions?
This happens when you have “unviewed” notices. First try to go back as many times as you can on your notices board and see if you can find them. What may have happened, though, and what has happened to me and many others, is that occasionally something you’ve commented on/interacted with will have spam or something that gets deleted, meaning one of your notices gets deleted before you see it. This is not something that the notice board can deal with, and it will simply refuse to load the chunk of notices that contains the error (deleted notice). I think it may even be that the deleted notice is the “unread” one. If your notice board ever goes completely so that you can’t load it at all, you have one of those error notices in the main notice section and you won’t be able to load the page until it drops beyond the “load more” button.
In that case there is nothing you can do, and you are just stuck with them like the rest of us (I currently have 3 that I will never be able to clear!)
I am stuck on 19 and I can’t get my notices page to go back far enough to clear them. I have a feeling some of it is a spam situation from the most recent company with the possible fake accounts. One was following me, and I think there might have been some comments on my tealog.
I can’t look at my notifications page! The numbers keep building up, but every time I try and look at the page I get an error message. Steepster, Y U NO like me???
Mine seems to be okay but I have encountered this problem as well a few weeks ago but not with “notifications” but with “recent activity”. I’m guessing it’s not a universal problem since it doesn’t affect everyone the same way.
Thanks for the responses and information guys! I’ll see how far back I can get in my notices. I would never have thought to try that Dinosara. I just love how helpful people are on steepster. You guys rock!
Mine shifted enough to get it down to 12 by going back into my notice pages and then it hung up. Yes, I think I have the spam situation…
Muahahaha! I found the 5 posts I had missed. Thanks a bunch Dinosara! That was driving me nuts. I’m not big on red so that was just slapping me in the face every time I loaded my dashboard.
I cant clear mine, just like SimplyJenW I also have 19 of them for about a week or more, i just know that when it says 20 that i have a new one lol
hmm, I wonder if you have that spam problem that Dinosara mentioned. I would guess if that is the case you’d have to email the steepster overlords to get it fixed.

My notice page seems to be okay but the recent activity is the one that keeps sending me to the black error page. It seems to be on and off as it was working fine the other day. Maybe maintenance?
I’m at 38 notices and suddenly this week cannot load them at all. Is this just me or is anyone else suddenly having problems?
I’ve been having trouble as well. At first I was just getting the oops kettle was left on screen. Now I can see my notices but there is one that simply will not load.
I have noticed more than once that when I’ve built up, say, 500-600 notices and go back to read them, I still end up with a few “unread”. Each time, I’ve gone back a second time, and out of the blue, I’ll encounter a single notice in bold every now and then. So far, it’s cleared everything up for me. I seem to be able to go backwards forever… (Tried once. Got bored.)
In my case I can only go back so far before it hangs up. I am down to 4 that I can’t clear. I am pretty sure it happened around a time where the powers that be had to delete a few accounts due to suspicious activity. I know one of those accounts had followed me, and I did not clear it before action was taken. Ah, well. 4 is better than 10…or 34. At some point I hope there is a way to fix it. The bare bones here are great, but there are a few tweaks I think would help the overall experience greatly.
I really wish we could have a “clear all notices button” for those days when you can’t get the notices to load. Or those times when you have notices you simply can’t get to and aren’t ever going to be able to get to them. At least the red box wouldn’t be stabbing me in the eyes with a spoon every time I load steepster up.
