Any suggestion to puerhstore.com please!

We sell pu-erh offline wholesale before, and now we want to sell them online. So we made the site http://www.puerhstore.com/ We want to build a Pu-erh tea store offers a wide selection of pu-erh tea cake from Yunnan, China at reasonable price. Only 25 pu-erh teas are uploaded, more and more pu-erh teas will be uploaded such as Pu-erh Brick, Pu-erh Melon and etc.

Could anyone give me suggestion to made it better? Thank you!

Your website looks good and with more teas listed I’m sure it will keep improving. One thing missing for me is information on each individual Pu Erh. What hooks me into purchasing Pu Erh are notes on the age of the trees, the locations, notes on the family farms that make the cakes etc.

I also like your pictures and demonstration on how to use a Pu Erh awl/knife.

Thank you! We will try to take some photos of trees, the locations and the family farms or factory that make pu-erh and put in on the products description or a page.

Polite suggestion #1: consider thinking about a new name and domain, your current one is very similar to the already established and well-regarded PuerhShop ( http://puerhshop.com ), close enough to cause confusion and all sorts of headaches. And hopefully It’s still early enough that you’ve got a window of opportunity to change it (to something more memorable and distinct) without major brand disruption.

We have considered the domain before. But we don’t produce pu-erh as our own brand and we sell pu-erh which have their own factory and brands such as Menghai Dayi, Xiaguan…
So our boss decide the site domain name as http://www.puerhstore.com/ definitively. Hope you can understand.

2: for your xiaguan products (which seem to be like half your stock), you need to name them properly acording to which actual xiaguan product they are, having a dozen different listings all as “Xiaguan Green Pu-erh Tuocha” is not helpful when they are clearly all different products, Jia Ji, Te Ji, FT #whatever, which are which? List them by their full and correct names, these different tuo series can be pretty different in both taste and value.

And, are these the prices for a single tuo or for a bag of 5? If it’s the 500g bags say so, otherwise those prices are way too high for single brand new Xiaguan regular production tuos.

Also, the description pages for all of them incorrectly say “Pu-erh Tuocha 357g”, when they’re mostly 100g tuos, Infact, the descriptions on a lot of things seem to be mixed up, for instance, the description page for the 2013 dayi 7542 (which is grossly overpriced imho) says vintage 2006 and fermented.

We will add series grade as you said to the name of pu-erh if we know the info the tea.

The price of tuocha is for a single. And thank you very much for your remind on the price. We will try our best to make our price competitive for the pu-erh.

We mistake the weight of tuocha, it should be 100g. We will aslo correct the description page for the 2013 dayi 7542 as soon as possible.

Maybe, if you have someone like a tea Sommelier they can write descriptions of the flavors of your teas? I know those are a bit subjective but a person who is trained and certified would be able to accurately describe the flavors of your different tea. I have never had puerh but it baffles me that they never have description for flavor yet tgy (usually described as orchid/floral) and other teas have descriptions. I would be more apt to purchase something that at least gives a vague flavor description (astringent, sweet, bitter, grassy, vegetal, earthy etc. )

:) It is easy to write the flavors of your teas in Chinese, but it is hard to write it in English for us. So we may post more pictures to describe pu-erh first and then try to write some for it.

ok, :) sounds great.

Your site looks nice. I love the large pictures. Some small suggestions: Your thumbnail images might look better without any borders instead of the gray/silver borders as seen here, for example: http://www.puerhstore.com/pu-erh-brick.html?price=-10

Where you have category by price: “Price $0.00 – $9.99 (2)” If possible maybe you should set the minimum to the real minimum rather than starting at $0.00

You may want to look into enabling HTTPS for your website.

Adding Bitcoin support to your accepted payment options might also be good (Info here if you’re not familiar with it: http://bitcoin.org/ )

That’s all I have for now. Keep up the good work :) I’ve subscribed to your newsletter.

Thank you for your suggestion. I will transfer your technical view to our technical engineer. :)
