Steeping bagged tea outside the bag?

They do look more appealing and if it gets people to appreciate the taste of real tea then even better. But looking at a comparative price, a box of 80 PG Tips is about £3 but 15 Teapigs English Breakfast tea is £4.50 a box

Also it is a measured amount per temple and I sometimes drink tea in a glass Bodum mug rather than a teacup so how much water is one of these pyramid temples supposed to serve?
