I haven’t seen this one mentioned but it looks interesting.

so tempting…

I’m just starting on pu, but anticipate liking it a lot. Do you think it’s safe to say that any of the teas with this club would be ok to keep (age) for a long time? I like the idea of the club but have a lot I need to drink sooner.

Pu is made for aging. :) I think you’d be fine.

I don’t have a special set up for them though, so I wasn’t sure if they would keep well.

It’s brand new. I decided to sign up and see how it is.

you can keep/age pu for a long time. Anyway, pu and most black teas are o.k. for years when stored properly….
wish I could join, but alas, I am in NL. Love to hear from you what you think of it.

For those who have the Golden Tips Subscription, how big are the packages of tea? Are they the same size as their sample sizes?

Yes

10 grams

Thank you! I was wondering if they were larger sizes….I wish samples were 15 grams, so that they allowed for one botched steep and then 2 “ooh, this is better” steeps. :) can you tell i have a problem with steeping?

I use only 2 gr. (1 teaspoon) per 200ml. (I use a small tasting set) Each session can take multiple steepings; (i.e 5 cups per sampler, so that counts up to 50 cups for the 10 samples you get each month.) It should be enough.

Monsoon Hill Tea Company (Single Estate Ceylon) does 20gr. tea samples, which I find A LOT-of-Tea for just sampling tea.

yehhh, another month Golden Tips tea arrived at my doorstep yesterday.

9 darjeelings and one assam. :)

How odd. I got 7 Darjeelings, one assam, one green, and one sikkim.

I wish my mailman would just leave it at my door, or in the mailboxes. I always get a package notice and have to use my lunch time to go to the post office. =(

I do the London Tea Club and Tea Sparrow, both of which I love and their prices are reasonable.

So, after mentioning that I signed up through word of mouth, the London Tea Club people are offering an extra sample to the person who referred me, so to speak. Since that was you, it’s only fair I mention you to them! I’ve followed you – if you follow me back, I’ll send you a quick message so that I can grab your name to send along to Cecelia? :-)

I’m a recent sign-up to both Verdant’s clubs (expensive, I know, but I’ve loved the odd sample I’ve had from Verdant and am pretty sure I’ll love lots of others) and to the London Tea Club (after crossfox’s message, I had a nosy and I fell in love with their site/premise, ever so slightly. Plus, at £10 per month (inc. shipping), it’s not a like a major commitment…).

I’d really like to sign up to White 2 Tea’s club, too – perhaps, after Christmas, I will… I think, with those three subs going on, I’d never need to buy much tea again :P

What was in this month’s Golden Tips? I’ve been tracking to see if it’s worth it….. I only drink black teas currently….

I have still not received this month package. :( A bit disappointing, I must say.

nothing here either…..

I’ll give them a couple of days then I’ll email to ask when December is being shipped.

In general the majority of tea has been black, at least in my boxes.

Another one to consider is Joseph Wesley’s A Year Of Tea subscription. It’s on sale right now, and he only sells black teas.

I’ve been very impressed with the teas he sells that I have had so far. I don’t know how much you get with his subscription though. I just saw it and thought you might be interested.

I just emailed Golden Tips to see when the December subscriptions will be mailed.
