cheap vacuum bottle/mug from china

Hello,

Does anyone has experience with any cheaper vacuum bottles that I can drink directly from them?

I am looking for some fancy container that could keep my tea hot trough these cold winter days. I quite fancy those vacuum bottles from Thermos Nissan series or Zojirushi.

BUT, I would like something cheaper as in my country those things from original manufacturers costs around 40-50$. So I found these on the china eshop:

http://dx.com/p/oneday-od-b06-senior-vacuum-stainless-steel-warm-cold-thermos-cup-w-buckle-silver-480ml-260749

they look to me like pretty much exact copies of original product at less than half the price, but do you think that I could risk something with these? I mean from the health point of view, if they can leech any dangerous chemicals or elements etc. or the are ok and I can use them without fear.

Thanks for advice ;)

Are you set on a thermos style, with metallic appearance? I have been using my double walled brewt to go, like this http://www.brewts.com/brewtogo_brewtogo.cfm and it has kept my teas a very hot temperature even when it is cold out.

It is also BPA free which is one of the things to look out for when combining hot liquids and plastics.

Hmmmm, this sounds interesting. Do you find them leak-proof? also, how many oz of tea do they hold?

Not too sure to be honest. You could contact Brewt directly to see who they have for distributors over there? They are really nice and feel good quality.

My absolute favorite are the Contigo Autoseal travel mugs. They are one handed use, and work wonderfully. 16oz is about $20, but I think you may be able to find them cheaper on the Bay or Amazon.

Costco usually has them 2/$20.

I think they hold around 12 oz of tea. I love mine, to be honest before I bought them I was wondering why they are so expensive, but after the first time I used mine after about 45 minutes of leaving it in my bag I was shocked by how hot the tea still was.

The only draw back, which I think you will find with all the carriers, is that you must steep before if using real tea or else it just oversteeps and gets bitter. I had the bodom style one that would separate the leaves in the french press way, but found the water still steeped too much.
