The sweeteners available from David's tea

Hi guys,

So I was at David’s the other day, and tasted a bit of their creamed honey—in both cinnamon and lemon flavours. They both tasted delicious, but I struggled to come up with teas where the flavours wouldn’t clash in some way. They also have flavoured agave, but aside from using the maple one in place of maple syrup or the vanilla one to add to…well, pretty much anything, what flavor combinations have you guys enjoyed? I could eat the cinnamon cream honey on its own because it’s that delicious, but I’d also like to try it in some of my teas, although I don’t know which ones to experiment with. Thoughts?

They used to have grapefruit honey which I picked up and added to matcha. If I have a tea that went bitter unexpectedly I will sometimes use one to try to fix that cup. I found it went well with my unflavoured blacks, for sure.

A cinnamon one would be neat with chai or any unflavoured tea. Really, if it sounds like a flavour you wouldn’t mind added to that tea or blend, try it out! :)

Cinnamon with Sugar and Spice tea. Try it and report back! lol

I, as a general rule, don’t use sweeteners. But as soon as I saw their cinnamon creamed honey, I instantly thought of that combination.

I bought both honeys but have also wondered how best to use them. So far, I put the cinnamon honey in Forever Nuts – as a latte – I thought it was pretty good. I tried the lemon honey in their Earls Garden tea, and in their Super Ginger. Both were okay.

I really like Sugar and Spice, so will for sure try the cinnamon in that – should be good!!

I was thinking of picking up some cinnamon to have in spiced dessert teas and some of my kick-in-the-pants Assams. I have the old lemon honey sticks that aren’t creamed, and love them in hot plain black or green tea when I’m feeling sick.

I debated getting the cinnamon for some of the Chai blends I have from DAVIDsTEA: Pumpkin Chai, Hot Lips…

The Lemon might go well with a more plain vanilla tea? Birthday Cake from DT came to mind for me, initially.

Lemon and Birthday Cake sounds so tasty. You are ever so wise Roswell Strange!

Really?! Lemony Birthday Cake? That sounds…weird. What about lemon honey with Orange Blossom rooibos from DT?
OH! Or sticking along the rooibos line of thought. Cinnamon honey with Oh! Canada!

haha Jen M, something about the Lemon and Birthday Cake just seemed to match in my mind. However, Cinnamon and Oh Canada also sounds like a tasty mix.

I didn’t pick up the cinnamon, but I did get the lemon creamed honey and I love it. I had a really bad cold last week so I kept adding it to my Cold 911, my Bravissimo, and my Super Ginger and it went great with all of those…. although that could have been because I was sick :P But how doesn’t like honey and lemon when they are sick?

I’ve also had it in my Creme of Earl Grey, Countess of Seville, La La Lemon, and Buddha’s Blend and I liked it in all of those as well.

Just discovered how tasty the cinnamon honey is on toast….oh dear….

I love creamed honey on toast, sometimes with peanut butter, sometimes not. I’d think you’d add it to teas that already have the added flavour on the ingredient list. Cinnamon honey in cinnamon tea, lemon honey in tea you would add lemon to…

Oh, I think cinnamon honey would be heaven on toast.

And I’m going to go through my cupboard and see which teas I think it would work well with. I don’t drink rooibos though, so that kind of rules out oh Canada and birthday cake and the like.

But honestly? I’m not going to lie. I think I want to eat the cinnamon creamed honey with a spoon.

Oh! and I also think cinnamon honey would be delicious with a vanilla tea—like vanilla Comoro or vanilla black or café vanilla or whatever.
I don’t know how I feel about adding cinnamon to an eGC, though. It seems like it would clash.
