Sipdowns

I really hate asking a dumb question but, well, here it is. What’s a sip down? I see it frequently in discussions and tasting notes but I’m not sure exactly what it means.

It can mean a few different things. But essentially a sipdown is when you finish up a tea. You sipped it down until it was gone.

It is often used in reference to decreasing the number of teas that are in your cupboard.

It’s when you drink the last of a tea in your cupboard. If you finish off your package/sample and no longer have any, it’s a sipdown.

Thanks! That’s what I thought it was but then somebody was on their 178th sip down and I thought that maybe I misunderstood. Boy, I have got to get me some more tea… I only have about 20! What have I been spending my money on! I could have been buying more tea!

It may not have been the 178th sipdown, but more down to 178 teas in the cupboard. It can be used in a lot of different contexts.
