UK teabags for general office use

Hi guys,

At my office I usually stick to my own personal stash of tea and rarely dip into the company tea, but being the only serious tea drinker in the office, I’ve offered to give ideas for approval for new tea for the office to share. Currently they’re drinking Typhoo.

Does anyone have good ideas for cheapish (budget-conscious!) tea bag tea, preferably that can be bought in large quantities? My initial thinking is something simple such as Twinings Everyday to start with.

Twinings has those wood assortment boxes that way there is variety to choose from. Later on you can buy the favorites in cartons and refill the teabox. Or if you buy an empty tea box fill it with a few different brands sold at a UK grocery shop.ETS theenglishteashop.biz also has nice teabags.

Thanks Nerys (sorry for the late reply). I believe there is a special Twinings shop near the office so I may give them a visit

Two words: Yorkshire Tea. It’s excellent.

I can also vouch for PG Tips and Twinings’ Irish Breakfast, 1706, and Assam.

I have heard very good things about PG Tips — from a Brit who spurns most American teas. :) She also loves Yorkshire Gold, but I’m not sure that’s budget-conscious.

I keep Yorkshire gold tea bags in my office for those long meetings where I need to just carry a cup and re-fill during the breaks. Good, malty, and strong. I like it better than PG Tips, which is OK.

Clipper! Every variety I’ve tried from them has been good.

The new Twinings Everyday blend is also solid. Much better than the old blend.

Clipper fan here too!
and for a straight black, I’d opt for Yorkshire Gold.

Thanks guys for all your help. Particularly the Twinings Everyday – I haven’t tried the new blend of that but I can see that being ideal for general office use.
