Old Good Eats Tea Episode

Alton Brown did an entire episode of Good Eats a few years back about tea. It was season 4 episode 12 and was titled True Brew II. I did a discussion search and did find one previous mention of the episode but thought I would repeat as the link doesn’t work. I found it through this link http://watchseries.lt/episode/good_eats_s4_e12.html
It is a fun episode and he covers a lot of ground in 21 minutes. If you have been in to tea for a while you will have a different opinion on some of his comments. You might also quickly notice white and dark tea gets no mention but it was a fun watch.

blargh. my pc-fu was not sufficient to dodge the malware getting this to work. but now that I know the episode exists – to the torrent!

Malware?! So sorry. I did not catch anything from it – at least that I know about. I tried to find it straight from Youtube but couldn’t. Maybe Netflix or Hulu?

It wasn’t serious – a couple of browser hijacks that were super easy to fix. I have horrible streaming, so I tried to download the video — folks who can stream it directly should be fine.

I have lousy streaming ability. The 21 minutes took 45 minutes but it was tea and good eats so I let it slide. Never occurred to me to try and download – now I’m glad I didn’t.

Can I just point out that this is the reason why I fell in love with loose leaf tea.
I was a weird child and I never watched normal shows in elementary school. All I did was watch Good Eats and I ended up making a whole lot of Alton’s recipes in elementary/middle school and that’s why my parents decided to get me a gorgeous KitchenAid, which I obviously named Alton ehhe.
Because of him, I’m my major now. I was originally in Food Science, but I switched to Hospitality Management and now I’m taking a class called Professional Cooking and all these Good Eats episodes still keep flashing into my mind whenever I cook! He’s actually in my description on Steepster!

This episode was definitely up on youtube last year (I would know. That’s all I did on my birthday ahaha) But I guess it was taken down? Tried looking for it because it really is a great episode, but alas, I cannot find it anywhere :/ When I rewatched it last year though, the whole microwaving your teabags bit.. some parts of the episode made me cringe, but it’s Alton Brown and I love him so I can let it go pretty easily :)

Alton Brown just means so much to me okay. He’s the reason why I love tea and food and knives and cooking and the kitchen and pretty much all things edible!

You totally do have Alton in your bio – that’s awesome. I like his cut throat kitchen show but not as much as good eats. As for the tea episode – I have yelled at people for putting tea bags in the microwave. Well actually I protest using the microwave for tea in the first place. But he is Alton Brown and I’m not so, yeah he gets a pass. I don’t know why all the shows aren’t on Food Network. A few are at least.
