China Trip

I will be in China in April. Hoping to get over to some tea fields and tea houses, as this will be during spring harvest.

My travels will take me mostly to Guangzhou & Dongguan area. I may get up to Shanghai as well.

I know these are all giant cities, is there any spot(s) in particular you would suggest me to go to?

Prefer to drink green and white, but also enjoy Yunnan black. Hoping guangzhou and Dongguan offer something worthwhile for purchases (real tea not lesser grades being sold as something better) and tea house experience?

Are there any tea fields in this lower region? I see many in the Shanghai region, as of now though Shanghai is only a maybe for this trip.

I lived in Hangzhou, which is famous for Dragon-well green tea. It is such a beautiful area, I would highly recommend a visit. The area around West Lake has many tea villages. You can rent bicycles and stop at various tea farms to sample teas.

How far drive is that from Yiwu or Shanghai? I will be taking the bullet train up there from Guangzhou. If the bullet train passes through even better!

Anything worthwhile in Hong Kong, or the other areas I will be in?

Hangzhou is a stop on the bullet train from Guangzhou to Shanghai. It’s just a few hours south of Shanghai. I would plan at least a full day in Hangzhou, and stay at a hotel near West Lake.

How far are the tea fields in Guangdong from Guangzhou or Donggaun cities? Can i get there by car or train reasonably fast?

Are their any great tea shops in either of these 2 cities?
