Best place to get tea tins
If I want to get plain old metal tins for my tea, where would be the best place to buy them? I know that some tea stores sell the tin if you buy a high enough amount of leaf. I also know that David’s Tea sells tins (with their logo on) for cheap. But are there some obvious sources of tins that I’m not thinking of?

I had no idea that H&S sells empty tins. I don’t need them though, because I buy most of their teas in the tins. The colored ones are totally beautiful—both the HT tins and the Palace tins. I plan to reuse all of them since they are too pretty to toss.
As specialtybottle was mentioned before, you can buy a lot of cans for very cheap. I remember at another steepster thread, TWS6 was highly suggested. Another suggestion was to take cheap glass containers and spraypaint them black which is also fairly cheap. I get a bunch of cans from a wide variety of sources, so I can’t personally suggest one particular brand or company.
Christina , in the GTA, I have often got stainless steel tins and canisters at south east Asian grocery stores starting at 1.25 and up. That’s so strange you posted on this topic! I’ve been scouting around trying to find some tins myself. I did know about Specialty bottle but I’m in Canada and the shipping was too high so that was not a good one.
Upton Tea Imports has tins for sale. I’ve been eyeing the case of 24 sample tins, but I feel silly just buying tins and not buying tea.
I’ve got some tins from Teajo last time I made an order, I think they were ~$2 each, I should have gotten more.
I bought some of Upton’s cylindrical larger tins and I like them. I think they are the same volume as the Harney ones, though, which are slightly cheaper (but a cube shape instead).
These are nice quality, air tight, and cheap enough to buy in bulk. The only downside is that there is a plastic piece in the lid, and it has holes in it. So when you wash it, you have to just let it air dry, and because the holes are so small, it can take days to dry.
