I like drinking matcha prepared the traditional way. My wife has tea ceremony credentials so it’s no problem for her. It’s always really really good.

Went to her friends house for dinner and had matcha prepared by a tea ceremony instructor. It was really really good.

I prefer matcha warm/hot, prepared the traditional way.

I’ve never had matcha prepared any other way so I don’t know if it still would be really really good.

Darjeelings, Oolongs, and Rooibos,, it up to me to brew. For All Japanese teas, it’s up to her to prepare the tea.

Your wife sounds pretty awesome. :)
I would love to someday take part in a real tea ceremony (I think I’d be so nervous, though!)…. I’ve been reading and rereading ‘the book of tea’ lately—it’s become one of my favourite books of all time.

One thing I love about being an adult is being (ahem) 29 and still discovering new things I like.

Red Leaf caramel matcha arrived yesterday. I made it cold with milk, a little sweetener, a couple of ice cubes and a half teaspoon of matcha. This is good stuff! How did I make it to 45…I mean 29 without trying this?

Ha, I know how you feel! Congrats on the discovery. :)

I’ve been drinking Den’s Matcha Kaze almost every day, prepared how the site recommends (1/2tsp sifted matcha with 3oz 180°F water), and I love it that way….

I have the cheesecake sample from Red Leaf (had no idea there was flavoured matcha until ifjuly told me about it! i love that woman…), and I made that with frothed milk in a jar. I didn’t sweeten it, and I might try that next time (i don’t tend to sweeten any of my teas)…. And, everyone talking about almond milk! I’m going to HAVE to try that next, too… I think I’ll really like that with the flavoured matcha. I’m sort of afraid to try it cold, but I trust you guys, so I’m going to have to give that a go as well. (I love all the awesome tea ideas on here!)

I was apprehensive too, and really didn’t expect to like it. I am amazed how much I do.

I love reading about your discovery of it, and since I’m nervous, I’m going to virtually grab your hand while I jump into ‘cold matcha preparation’ today. haha

I’m your girl! To be more specific, I used 1/2 t matcha, 8oz milk, two ice cubes and put it all in the blender. It wasn’t quite right so I added 1t sugar and tried again. Ended up with 2t sugar and couldn’t stop drinking it (the purists are gonna hate me).

H and when I read the reviews of the cheesecake one, someone said they added raspberries and that sounds amazing.
