Can we get a "light" version of Steepster Select?
Hi Jason and crew. I’m posting here to leave some important feedback on the Steepster Select program and see what others in the community think.
I have found that the 25-ish dollars a month just isn’t fitting my budget, but I love the program and don’t want to lose it! My suggestion is, would it be possible for you to create a smaller version of the Steepster Select, where recipients only get 1 packet of each of the 5 monthly samples, rather than two, and pay a lower price? Maybe somewhere in the ballpark of 15 dollars a month?
I’m currently splitting Steepster Select with a friend and having them pay for half, but I’m not sure if that friend is going to be able to continue doing this and unfortunately with my own financial situation, 25 dollars a month is just too high a commitment for me (ahh, working class woes), so I’m facing the issue of likely having to cancel my subscription soon unless circumstances change for me.
Is a lighter version something that could be offered?
P.S. – As beautiful as your presentation of the program is, I think some like me might be willing to forego the cloth bag the samples arrive in each month if it could help lower the cost a bit and help make a cheaper version possible (in tandem with fewer samples). They tend to rack up after a while anyway and I find myself not having much purpose for them personally.

I do have to say with just getting my first box that I was impressed by the presentation and love the bag.
Is there somewhere that the previous months are listed?

I would love to see an archive of the previous months as well, especially with clickable links to their pages on Steepster. Even on the Steepster Select page that shows “This month’s featured teas” you can’t click through to their pages to see the reviews and qualities. I end up having to search for them, which can be surprisingly difficult sometimes as their names on Steepster aren’t always exactly what is featured on the sample
packets. It would be very convenient to be able to just click on the names, especially for those of us who like to review the Select teas.
I agree about a “light” version. To expand on the idea of still keeping great presentation, but lowering cost, would it be possible to have some sort of nice presentation piece with the first shipment of a subscription, which would then be reusable for future shipments, as they are received?
The inspiration for this is subscriptions of this kind, which come with a storage tin, etc. in the first shipment and not in any of the subsequent.
Alternately, having an option for a “first shipment” purchase (coming with the storage and the tea) and then separate “monthly shipment” purchases would allow people to temporarily cancel their subscription, if necessary, and then start it again, later.
I also thought about this too. I think for me I enjoyed the cloth bag, but after a few months of accruing more of them I found them just piling up and not being used. Something like having the bag just be in the first month, or like you said, possibly a tin or something else, would be a good alternative for some people.
I agree … I would prefer having a “light” version of the steepster select. I enjoy having these teas, but I really don’t need two samples of each tea. To this end … if someone would like to split with me and they can paypal … how about PMing me and I’ll split with you. I still have one each of all the teas since the beginning of this plan, so if you’re new to the plan, you can get the previous teas.
Thanks to everyone for the feedback. We have been working out different ways we could accommodate requests like this, taking into consideration the price as well as the amount of tea received. I can’t give any details at this time, but know it is something we’re working on and will hopefully have some updates out in the not too distant future.
I like the club and I want more!! I would like more teas to try per month.
I can see validity in Jace’s comment about the extra bag every month. You could just give that to the new member’s introductory box and then have them available on your website to sell if people want another. (By the way,,,are you going to be selling Steepster teas and other wares?? That’s what it looked like to me but maybe this will all be coming together when the ap gets up and running :)
Anyway,,,I hope you go with the “small, medium, large” club plans bc I would choose “large”. I want more per month :)
Oh another thought ,,,,you could do custom ones too but I don’t know if that would be too expensive. But you could do “greens”,,“blacks” “multipack”.
Anyway,,,,just want it to stay QUALITY because it is very nice tea and wouldn’t want quality to be compromised. :)

O.K. in all my reading,,,I realize the bag is a Puerh Storage Bag for breathability as your puerh matures? (Let me know if u guys use them for some of your cakes or maocha?
Now I will be using them lots more so that is a very nice thing included in our Steepster Select monthly box. Thank you :) Newbie to Puerh so I didn’t know :)
