Suggestions for flowering tea balls

My aunt recently experienced a flowering tea ball at my last tea party. She loved it and wants to maybe do a tea party for her daughter’s baby shower and would like to have flowering teas there. She is making noises about going to a Teavana store. Their peach momotaro has mixed but mostly good reviews here.

I got mine from The Tea Merchant and I’m not opposed to ordering her some from there since it is probably the best I’ve tasted. But… I thought I’d solicit input here as well.

I’ve had Adagio’s and Numi’s and I thought they were kind of bland.

Are there any other suggestions out there for flowering teas that don’t have just jasmine as a flavor? Flowering teas don’t seem to be a big thing among the Steepsterites I follow. :)

Yeah, I was looking at theirs on here. Not many reviews. But I may need to make a Teavivre order in a couple of weeks… :)

From my experience, flowering teas aren’t the most flavorful. More for show than flavor

Same here, but she was wow-ed by the show. And I will say that Tea Merchant’s are surprisingly tasty.

I just logged The Persimmon Tree’s Sunshine. My wife and I actually not only finished the first pot, we wanted another. How often does that happen with blooming tea? Correct answer for me is never before.

I’ll have to check that one out. Thanks for the input!

I heard Verdant had a really good flowering tea, maybe a year or so back? Maybe it’ll come back?

When I was at the LA Tea Festival, Chado Tea Room had a huge display of flowering teas and I asked them how to brew them as they usually taste not so amazing, and they suggested using a lower temperature water compared to most sellers I see say use boiling so the tea blooms. Chado has a pretty big lineup of blooming tea too.

It’s not as pretty – but the best tasting blooming tea I’ve had was from Mandala http://shopmandalatea.com/black-tea/flowering-black-tea-cones.html

I just got some of those from Mandala. :) And I’ll look at Chado as well. Thanks!
