Does anyone here order tea from www.jkteashop.com?

I am curious how well known they are on steepster.
Personally I REALLY like their tea store. In my experience their tea is always of great quality. For example, I had tried 3 different Da Hong Pao teas from 2 different stores. I liked it just fine, but it couldn’t compare to the Da Hong Pao I ordered from jkteashop. The leaves from jkteashop were a lot more tender and subtle tasting than the other Da Hong Pao teas that I had tried up till then. I also bought my first gaiwan from their store and have been using it for over a year and am very happy with the purchase.
I have also purchased a number of other teas from their store, like their Phoenix Dancong, which I had once before from another store, but I liked jkteashop’s a lot better. So far, I have never had a bad experience with them.

So, I am curious, how many other people order from jkteashop?
And what are your experiences with their tea?

This is their website: www.jkteashop.com. Their ebay store: http://stores.ebay.com/chineseteasupplier

…if you want people to be excited about a tea vendor you like, it’s probably a good idea to not do this, because it looks like you’re affiliated with the company and are trying to (very clumsily) promote them.

oh… Erm… I didn’t intend it to come across that way.
I just wanted to share a tea store that I never really saw any one talk about. How else am I supposed to talk about a tea vendor I like without sounding like I am promoting them? Which is actually what I am doing in a way, promoting them, but not because I am affiliated, but simply because I like their store and want to hear what other people think.

Along with jkteashop, one of my favorite tea stores is www.teavivre.com. If I were affiliated with jkteashop I wouldn’t promote another tea vendor.

Haha, no, I’m sure you’re completely legit; I’m just saying the same thing has been done so many times – potentially new user, no tasting notes (I rarely use the forum, so you might be very active here – that’s on me) and a glowing review of a specific company complete with linkage.

Aside from that, though – how about writing some tasting notes for their teas? That’s usually a good way to get others excited.

ETA: And here’s a link that might be helpful. http://steepster.com/teas/jk-tea-shop

I’m fairly new and am not very active on steepster. I have posted a few topics and replied on a few, but have not yet made any tasting notes. I will do so though.
Thanks for the link.

Funny coincidence, I was browsing gaiwans on ebay last night and looked at several of theirs.

Funny enough I am drinking at tea from JK Tea Shop this morning (spring Guangdong Jinxuan Maofeng). The teas I’ve had from them have been on the whole very good. I agree with Anna, writing some tasting notes is one of the best ways to get the word out! And if you don’t see the tea you want to review on Steepster, please add it. Since JK labels all of their tea by year and harvest there are probably a lot of their teas that have not been added.

O, thanks for the tip. I had no idea that there was an option to add a certain tea. Found the button now.

I’ve ordered several times from JK. I have a few gaiwans, caddies and presentation bowls from them. They’re pretty cheap, even with their recent price increases. The only thing I refuse to buy from them is Puerh… I personally find it a little overpriced. They were definitely the best place for accessories 2-3 years ago.

I might have bought my gaiwan set there, but I definitely wanted the cups along with the gaiwan itself. I noticed that they have them sold separately, so I didn’t even look any further, I just picked a set I liked and bought it. They have a very cute red and black gaiwan listed, and I noticed on the link to their ebay page that they have the cups. Wish I had known!
