Any places I need to stop for tea in Paris?

I am traveling to Paris in a little over a month and was wondering if anyone knew of places I should try to go to get some teas while I am there? Also hitting Austria, Switzerland and Germany if there are places I should look for in any of those countries.

Salon de thé Angélina, one of Paris’s most famous place for tea and hot chocolate! Lucky you :-)

When I was 15 and travelling with a school group we went there for hot chocolate, and to this day that single experience has ruined hot chocolate for me just a bit. One of the most delicious drinks I have ever had. :)

oh Paris. You need absolutely to go to Mariage Freres´s shop at the Marais – the main one, or if totally impossible to get to the cash register then maybe the prepacked packages across the street. And if you are there nearby the Dammann shop at Place des Vosges is just as beautiful, though in a different style.

And I totally make sure to go Theodor´s shop near Trocadero square because their teas are really unique and considering the quality a good price when sold by the weight. And Lupicia has a Paris store, now on Boulevard Saint Michel (I think!). I have not gone there yet and the prices are ridiculous (they charge for 50 grams what MF charges for 100!), but also totally on my list to go check next time.

And my advice is buy tea in France rather than german blends elsewhere.

I’m sorry, is that a real question?! I would be loosing my little tea drinking mind if I was going to Paris! I’d look to see if/where Fauchon, Kusmi, Le Palias de Thes, Nina’s and all the ones others have listed have a store. There really is nothing like seeing and smelling the tea before you buy!

I’m so glad you asked this, I’m leaving for Paris on June 1st. If you’re going to be there any time between the 1st and the 13th I’d love some company, my husband isn’t much of a tea drinker.

Oh that would have been so much fun, but we don’t leave until the 15th.

I going to give my thread a bump to see if there are any other places I’m missing. I leave in less than a week. I’m so excited.

Perhaps Betjeman and Barton

I have heard really nice things about les classiques( a vanilla caramel tea) their cherry black, so Nancy m’était conté ( a fruity macaroon green), and Paris s’éveille ( an oolong based chocolate caramel taste which I have heard some say they prefer to Wedding Imperial by mariage frères). Pouchkine is one of their classic bergamot teas.

If you speak French or have a good translator. This discussion might give you some ideas. It starts in 2008 and goes to 2013 but discusses favourites from Paris and online tea shops.

This might be helpful, it has a map marking out some great destinations for tea in Paris.

Thank you so much. I looked at and printed out the map to take with me.
