Fig or date tea recommendations...

I was looking for a tea that had either of these flavours, or as the most prominent ingredient. These are two of my favourite fruits, and I’d really like to have them as a tea. The closest I’ve found to date is the jujube herbals. Only places that offer actual sample sizes (less than an ounce… or a few grams), please. Black tea was be a preferred base, but I’d go for anything but white tea (it just doesn’t suit me), and no hibiscus.

oh man, all of those sound amazing. Is the Capri relatively new?

brand new, like last month maybe. pretty good, even chilled. I thought you are in NY area, right?

haha. I figured I would have known about it if it wasn’t new. :D

Fig and lemon… sounds pretty good.

I LOVE Fig Rose from Teavana! It totally reminds me of Fig Newtons! I believe it may have a bit of hibiscus in it but it isn’t present very much. Yummy!

I kinda want to try that, but I wonder how much fig flavour it really has. And I can pick up hibiscus really easily. There is pineapple in it too??

The fig aroma and flavor is intoxicating ! I practically swoon. I sweeten my tea which drops the hibiscus to practically nonexistent. I think it needs the hibby to keep it from becoming totally cloying. The pineapple, apple, etc. just add a nice base for a herbal. I actually eat all the fruit left in the strainer when I’m done steeping. :-D

Heh. It does sound like trail mix. I just don’t need that much.

PM me and maybe we can do a swap. It’s always good to try some before buying a bunch.

I am so glad you posted this! I love fig and dates as well and was wondering if there were any good tea blends out there.
@Carol who…have you tried the fig rose tea since they have taken the nuts out of the blend? I was really dissapointed that teavana took all nuts out of their teas.

What!!!!! I have bought it and I thought it was just me because it didn’t seem to taste the same. it’s still good but the nuts probably make a difference. :-(

I just signed up for a free Nibblr box yesterday and tried to get them to send me all of the fig and date options. :D

Sadly, I haven’t had many teas with figs or dates, but:
Tealux – Fig Berry Sencha – I can’t recall how much actual fig I noticed when I drank this, but it’s a really nice blend. No hibiscus!

52Teas – Date Nut Muffin rooibos – I love this blend, unfortunately it will probably be impossible to find unless they reblend it but I love this tea.

What is Nibblr box?

Sorry, off topic from tea, but it’s like a snack box they mail to your house every week. nibblrbox.com
