Oolong Brick? Help a beginner out

Ok so I’m an herbal tea drinker who is dabbling in the world of oolong tea. I ordered some Formosa Jade oolong that was on sale at Mountain Tea. Got it in the mail today and it feels hard and is all stuck together tighlly wrapped in this plastic packaging. I honestly have no idea how to use this or how to store it. No instructions on the box or package at all. Help?

Maybe it’s vacuum packed and when you un vacuum it, it’s not actually stuck together?

Marzipans correct they are vacuum packed. Unfortunately once open the bags are not resealable. I usually keep them in the bag sealed with one of those bag clips you get at the dollar store than if possible I keep it in a tin or jar away from moisture, heat, odours and light. Once you cut open the bag you will see that it is a loose tea.

Ohhhh ok. Thanks guys!

It came apart all at once when I cut the package and the air all oozed out. Put it in a ziploc bag, then back in it’s tiny labeled box :)

I just got a bag of green oolong from my sister, she bought it in Vietnam. It was all vacuum packed too. It is green and very good, seems like a Dong Ding if I had to guess. Anyway, you might want to check out the vids at teadb.org. James has a deep experience with oolongs, and lots of steeping/tasting videos.

Thanks!
