Looking for teapot. Forgot what it was called/where to buy.

Hello, it’s been a while since I’ve been around, but a long ago I remember seeing a beautiful clear teapot. I think it had a filter inside and it was clear probably glass. It was long and cylindrical and I’m pretty sure the cost was in the triple digits. I’m looking to purchase it now, but for the life of me I can’t remember what it was called or who carried it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Edit: I think it was a sorapot. Thanks anyway. Would appreciate similar teapot suggestions though. Something larger than tea for two would be nice.

Sounds like you may be thinking of the stunning Joey Roth Sorapot. Sadly, it appears that it is no longer available. If you like contemporary design, a larger pot, and would consider a ceramic teapot, take a look at this Blomus porcelain teapot. It sports a nice design flair.

If you are just looking for clear teapots you can try akadwelling.com or adagio.com. I got some good teapots from both places. Ceramic and glass pots.

I think this is the sorapot you are looking for. The selling price is USD200.

You can also buy it off the Joey Roth website. The price is higher at 285 though.

Here’s a nice review on the new design and a chat including comments from Joey Roth.

A few notes on the old sorapot. Not sure if the new one addressed these issues.

- About 5% of the time, if the glass wasn’t positioned properly, water would leak from it.

- The little tighten bar at the bottom of the pot would eventually wear out and it would separate from the pot. I’m guessing the glue bond broke after excessive washing.

- If the glass breaks, you can actually replace it for $20? Might be cheaper, but definitely not more. I can’t find the email where I inquired about it.
