Jun Steepster Select Box

signed up for 3 months of steepster select, first two months was 5 teas 2 packets each all good! This Month was just 5 teas one packet each, just half the amount of previous months.
Why is that??
Steepster Select is too expensive for it to be like that IMO

@Bluii, Thanks for your question and for being a member of Steepster Select! For the June box we made a slight change to our packaging. Previously (as you mentioned), we sent 10 pouches of tea, 2 for each of the 5 different teas in the box. Each of those pouches had 1 serving/4 grams of tea in them. For June we modified the pouches and sent 5, 1 for each tea, and each of those pouches is larger and has 2 servings/8 grams of tea. Sorry for the confusion.

The main reason we did this was that we heard back from subscribers who were having trouble customizing the amount of tea they used, depending on how they normally drink tea. Some wanted to use less than the 4 grams in a single pouch, some wanted to use more to make a larger pot of tea. Either way, since the pouches were already divided this was difficult. So we decided to put the full 8 grams into a single pouch so people had more flexibility in using the amount of tea they wanted. But if you still want to have the same serving size, you can use 1/2 a pouch.

Using 5 pouches instead of 10 also allowed us to put money normally spent on those pouches towards our tea purchases, so we can spend more on awesome teas. We were excited by that little bonus.

I hope this helps clarify why we made the change. We updated the brew instructions on the pouches, but are realizing we didn’t do a good job communicating the change, sorry for that. If you used the whole pouch as a single serving, shoot us an email (feedback at steepster.com) and we’ll make it right!

Hi Jason, someone redirected me to your response to this question after I had posted a similar question myself. I’m also disappointed in this change. I liked getting two single-serving pouches of each flavor, because then I could try a tea now and save the rest for later when it was more weather/mood appropriate (like when I was tasting summery greens in January, and now I can enjoy them in July). I also appreciated having one less thing to screw up with measurements, as I had a tendency to overheat water and then pour out too much or too little. A dedicated amount of tea meant one less thing to measure for me.

I wish you had asked all of the subscribers for feedback before you had changed it, because now I feel like I have to use the whole sample at once to keep the tea from losing flavor. I still can’t find out where on this website I’m supposed to send feedback for the Select program, and I’m annoyed that I can’t seem to have any input on this program that I’m spending so much money on.

Hi Tooch, Feedback at steepster.com did appear to work. I sent them an email, I preferred the single cup packets as well. It was really convenient to take on the go… now not so much.

Too expensive. I’ll buy my samples from Upton, Teavivre, Harney & Sons, and others, all of which offer a fully curated selection of teas and customer-friendly sampling programs.
