Teaware lust?

I found a sale on Lin’s Ceramics at https://www.theteasmith.com/merchant2/LINS.html

Not every piece is on sale but many are. Recently Lin’s has started a policy of consistent pricing across vendors and will not allow vendors to set prices. Along with that, the prices have gone up. Two of the teapots here are at $57 and they have a full selection of glazes. I am fairly certain we won’t see prices this low for long. I picked up some more cups to go with a set I already own, a tea canister and a stand-alone cup. I’m amazed at how well these cups hold heat, and what a difference in the mouthfeel of the tea.

I really love the pots in the light glaze and they say they are good for greens???? Green teas are the only teas I drink every day.

The light cream glaze is what I have, though I bought a couple darker glaze cups to use with other tea ware I own, since a few of the cups are marked down to only $8 I couldn’t resist. I use my Lin’s pot for greens, fresh sheng, and white tea. The glaze takes on color over time, though it is not a crackle glaze like Ruyao, but I definitely wanted to put some thought into choosing the coloration. The color is so light and creamy I wouldn’t want to layer dark tea over it, myself. If I wanted to use dark tea I would choose a darker glaze. Teasmith has a really pretty Lin’s olive green and light yellow glaze too, which I chose for the tea canister, and that would be really pretty with green tea. ^^

If I didn’t just have to spend money on an emergency root canal I would easily drop the $50 asking price for this

There is so much need for this and so little ability to justify the cost.

Dexter said

It’s beautiful but pretty pricey….

Nice but too expensive, a cheap gaiwan will probably brew your tea just as well. I’d rather spend that money on new cakes from Yunnan Sourcing or Whiite2Tea.

This is lovely!

Oh, I don’t want it to brew tea. I want it as a piece of art. :) Not that I’ll buy it at that price even as art, but it speaks to me.
