MissLena posted a photo of a mug on Instagram today. Just amazing. I’ve since ordered two pieces from this artist and have fallen in love with several more.
If you are at all interested in unusual, modern, industrial, bio-mechanical, steam-punk (ish..). You HAVE to check this etsy shop out.

I’m obsessed with those pretty teawares. I got a gift of Gaiwan from my friend, actually she bought it for herself and then she thought it’s more of “my thing”, so she gave it to me. It’s soooo pretty, I love the shape and lines! well, if gaiwans can be defined by gender, this is definitely a beautiful girl.

That’s beautiful – they have just amazing teaware. I might also have bought one of these in that order I placed….it just seemed really inexpensive and just simple clean design.

I found something interesting that I have no use for yet someone else may drool over it, a personal Matcha mill. This website has several.

Woah. I’ve been avoiding buying yixing teaware, but I might have to get this. It’s gorgeous!

http://www.tealux.ca/balance_yixing_clay_teapot

Has anyone bought yixing from Tealux? How’s the quality?

I really shouldn’t – I hardly use the teapots that I have and this is way bigger than I would ideally want for a first yixing pot, but damn, it’s sooooo pretty.

i have not, but that is cute :)

when I click on this link I am brought to the website www.tealyra.com, not tealux.

They changed the US site to tealyra.com. Still “Tealux”. :)

Teaware is my thing right now. And I’m broke.

I REALLY want another David’s Tea Nordic Mug. My current one is actually the best thing ever. It’s my new favorite piece of teaware. Also I really want one of those latte mugs, but they retired the blue one before I bought it. :( I’m holding out until the spring line, because I have the most Christmas-y one ever, so I don’t want another winter one.

Also I have been looking around recently for a cheap gaiwan, which I bought. But it lead me down a rabbit hole.

I really like this little round teacup, but it’s a bit out of my price range for a cup that small. (I could do a bit under an 8oz cup in it, so it would be great for short infusions, but it’s still a bit pricey.

In a similar vein, I really like these little teacups from Hankook.

I like the ones without the handle in appearance better, but they seem less practical. (The cup would get hot unless you were brewing green tea at a low temp. Since they’re Korean, I suppose that is what they are for, but I’d like the opportunity to brew an oolong or expensive black in them.) So I like the one with the blue flowers best.

And I’m currently looking for a large bowl shaped latte mug. (I dislike the tall ones, which are more common, but I think they’re not very sturdy and I tend to knock things over…) I just bought one really cheap that’s adorable, so now I know I can get a decent one for a low price if I look around. Mine has Mickey Mouse sketches on it. I’d love one that would match, at least in concept. (like around 20oz-22oz. Enough that I can brew 16 ounces of tea in my nordic mug and still have room for milk.)
shrug

I did just buy this cup, which is adorable. I don’t know if I’ll necessarily use it, but whatever. I got a better price, but I was too lazy to track down my seller.

I’m moving away from ceramic strainers for the most part (the stainless ones just work better, even though they are not as pretty), but I liked how interesting this cup is. It kind of is pointless, though, since the point of a glass cup is to see tea steep, but oh well.

I don’t know why, but I’m really into mugs and stuff. I used to only brew in pots, but I just drink more tea out of a mug. My David’s Tea mug also holds heat so, so well, so I guess I’m realizing there is a lot of benefit to a ceramic mug, mostly heat retention.

Why do I keep looking? Why can’t I just look at the post and then walk away? From the same seller…. http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Golden-pear-zhu-ni-130cc-handmade-pot-yixing-teapot/1149328_32212194709.html

It has a nice shape Dexter. I can’t really say anything because I have been looking at both larger and smaller pots than mine lately, despite the fact that I haven’t even decided what to dedicate my larger one to!

yyz said

I so want the tray too.

Oh, wow. That tray is amazing!

I’ve maxed out my budget already for the month buying this set from Yunomi:

https://yunomi.us/shop/21718/yunomi-handcrafted-black-bizen-yaki-tea-set-id-21718/

Plus, I have a few gaiwans picked and sitting in the cart for my next Yunnan Sourcing order. I’m just waiting for Feb 1st because I’ve blown the January budget so bad.

I haven’t really been looking – and I always get in trouble when I look – but has anyone noticed an inexpensive, smallish, cute pu’erh breaking tray?

I keep almost buying one from Yunnan Sourcing, but it’s no so cheap when you add in the shipping…

Good price on the dipper tray. The other listing I saw had a cheaper base price but with shipping it was closer to 40.

I LOVE that geometric tea tray…. I am so not allowed…. it’s a good thing my new credit card isn’t here yet – there are some beautiful pieces there.

Those trays are beautiful but so teeny! And I totally love the taxidermy mice, ha ha… :P

Anlina said

I’m deeply tempted by the geometric tray. I ended up buying a teaboat because I couldn’t find a single bamboo tray that suited my tastes, but I really like that one. Just enough space to make tea for one.

Sil select said

oh god..i missed seeing these… must.not.buy.

OMGsrsly said

The big dipper tray is on my “to buy” list. :D Perfect for me.
