Redeem your DAVIDs TEA Frequent Steeper points!

How does this David’s Tea Frequent Steepster program work? I noticed on their website that they have recently opened a store within reasonable driving distance in Nassau County, NY. I will probably go there this week and pick up an Oolong and a Puerh. Are there any recommendations from people who have bought from them?

I can’t say that I like their oolongs (never had their puerh). I think their flavored teas are much better than their straight teas, but that is just my opinion. :)

Agree. Straight teas just meh. But the best part about Davids you can buy very little to sample, like even 7g. They have excellent customer service.

Hey Allan, just ask them for a frequent steeper card. For every dollar you spend you get one point, for every 100 points you get 50g/2oz of tea. Every three months they convert the points to a rewards certificate. July/aug and sept were together so I should have certificates now in oct but my account doesn’t show any.

Well I’m super grumpy. I’ve never received a notice to redeem my points, but I just went and checked my account and it says I only have 5 points, and I have spent a whole lot of money there over the last few months. :( Ugh, have to call customer service about this soon.

Thanks Anlina. I’m glad to hear someone else is experiencing this problem. It must be a glitch in the system. I have to wait until Monday to call them though. I’ll post here what happens.

I sent them an email last night, so hopefully I’ll hear back on that quickly, and I’ll let everyone know what happens. If not, I’ll give them a call.

100 points have definitely been deducted from my account too. I think the balance is correct otherwise – it’s 158 points, and I did just buy a couple Timolinos.

I had 100 points taken from my account too. I checked this morning though and even though my points total is still the minus 100 points, it did tell me I have one 50-gram bag of tea that I can redeem so that makes me happy.

I would say there is either a delay between the system deducting the points and the e-mails being issued OR that maybe they got caught in a spam filter? There is no way that Davids nust decided to rip off their entire customer base. This is only the second time the points have been issued and they are still working out the system. By all means, get in touch with them but I think a company with their customer service should get the benefit of the doubt.

Unfortunately it has nothing to do with the emails. If I go in to my account the points are gone and under the rewards section there is nothing. It worked last time so I’m not sure why it didn’t this time. :(

I’m sure they’ll fix it, but it’s nerve racking to see 400 points gone!

Can you join and add points after you already purchased tea? I purchased a lot in NY but didn’t know about the program, and don’t want to miss out on free tea!

Kittenna said

I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure you can only accumulate points with purchases made after joining :(

If they are recent and you have receipts, I think you can. Contact customer service and see! If they have the program in US stores as well, the salesperson should have mentioned it, I think.

I got my card in Chicago and earned points there so US is ok. I think they might add them if you call too.

Just talked to Davids and the emails are going out tomorrow. They just did it on the system earlier than sending emails.

For those of us not near a store, you can order online and put in the note section which teas you want for your rewards. (NOTE: DO NOT put these teas on your order, just the note section)

I was just going to ask if there was a way to redeem online! Thanks!
